Android 2.1 Update

It was a post on DroidForums.com that started most it :)

We were expecting an update to happen this week beginning on January 22nd but folks its arriving early! Verizon is pushing out a 61.4 MB maintenance release today ahead of schedule that should get users excited for whats soon to come. We haven't seen reports of the version / build number change, although we believe there is still something going on behind the scenes and soon, that will update to 2.0.1 ESD59.

Our sources have indicated Android 2.1 has passed all internal testing on the Droid and a target is to have all Droids updated before the end of the month. This patch had added some minor fixes and preps the phone for a smooth Android 2.1 RELEASE. To be clear, the forthcoming immediate update is not 2.1, but a precursor to smooth the transition to 2.1 which will follow within the next couple of weeks. Stay Tuned, more details to come!

Seeing as we all knew an update of some sort was supposed to happen today, why haven't Google, Motorola, or Verizon released some kind of statement letting us know it's been pushed back. And last time we knew a month ahead of time it was coming. Even a few days before hand we knew it was going to have a staggered release. Now, we don't have anything? Someone's gotta speak up.

Interesting thought... It is almost like they are finalizing somethings and don't want to say "yes" or "no" cause they are close to doing so. ;)

Because 2.0.1 was supposed to be for Jan 22nd but it came early. That is why.
 
you guys make me sick! lol. atleast you have been confirmed to get it! we at mytouch know nothing! when, if, nothing! i would just be happy with "we dont know when but its comimg". shizz i would be happy with "NO! , your not getting 2.1" atleast it would be something
 
seems like maybe they got some weird facebook update or some crap, but it looked like a droid update somehow? i dunno, seems weird and fishy! maybe something leaked? somehow? nah, prob just an FB update of something. Either way, i didn't get it and i prob won't get it! not terribly concerned, just waiting til 2.1, the last rumor i was heard was beginning of February we will see something else, waiting til then
 
Well this was wierd. Just looked at my phone and I have the facebook widget on one of my home screens and it said I needed to log in using the app. I have'nt had to log in to facebook since I got the phone and did the initial sign up / log in. I was not prompted to update anytime today and I'm still 2.0.1. I was also already running facebook v 112.:confused:
