Ok folks, I know we were lucky to get our Optimuses (Optimi?) with 2.2 preinstalled, but what do you think the chances are of getting the upgrade to Gingerbread? I'm probably being greedy, right? Is a 600 mhz processor an automatic deal-breaker?

My GF just got one yesterday & its a sweet little phone I'm happy to see she picked a good phone.
But hears the crazy part i have an Epic (Galaxy S) and sprint is still dragging ass on the FroYo 2.2.1 update for there BIG Flagship phone but the little LG, the phone that Best Buy/Sprint is giving away for free has Froyo
You all should be real happy that you have 2.2.
I Don't understand Samsung & LG. Samsung is pretty good about fixing TV firmware and updating TVs But i have an LG TV right now & it took LG forever to fix little bugs in the firmware
Now LG is pulling back on their previous statement of at least a 1 GHz CPU requirement: LG pulls back, 'will evaluate' upgrading Optimus series to Gingerbread when specs and source code are public -- Engadget .

If this is correct, I'm rather annoyed because I just got this phone one week ago. For it to be outdated right out of the box means it is going back.
