So....
After trying to find buried posts for hours, and having trouble downloading files from mediafire and the others I decided to put together a kind of informational site for Ally development.

It is by no means done, I will constantly be changing things. If you see anything that needs to be changed/added/removed let me know and I can facilitate your requests.

I will update at least once a week as new advancements become available. Enjoy

Very helpful for people just starting out. If you read these threads, many of which just link to other threads, that then link to other threads, eventually your head is spinning and you're clueless as to where to start. You're doing a good job so far with providing an actual explanation of this stuff! Don't assume the reader has any clue and you'll be set. Thanks!
 
Very cool you compiled all this info in an easy to find way.

Might I add, I didn't see anything in regards to setting up the Android SDK or getting ADB running. I think that's a very important piece of information to have accompany all the other info.
 
Yeah its still a work in progress, expect to see instructions for sdk configuration soon in the Tips and Tricks section
 
I was looking at the screenshots of the themes you have on there and I was wondering what is the name of that battery status widgit you have? is it from Beautiful Widgits?
 
No its actually something RedFury turned me on to, its called BattStatt available free in the market

Ok after looking into it I found that my UserSpace tools where NOT working correctly..


So I fixed it by adding a SUPER AWESOME BADASS SCRIPT OF ULTIMATE POWER

Complete with AJAX progress bars
1 gig limit on uploads, I cant find the timeout settings so I am not sure how long it will let you upload, but I have been testing with 100+MB files and have had limited issues.

Updated site, added Advanced Theming section, Ill add more to whats there in the next few days, sorry its been so long, just got a new phone to play with and been busy at work.
 
I'm on my second ally... the first one I just plain wore out .. I had it rooted with velocity .2 gmn turbo 4 overclocked and realy liked it.. now I have a stock vzb ally that i'd like to hook up again. What is the best recovery, rom, theme, etc. I'm a fan of trident and dresildees work. But I don't remember how to do any of it.. I got lucky after hours of trial and error. I have a 16gig sd that i'd like to to the apps to sd. This time I want to do it right and make aback up of stock everything.. ( I didn't do the 1st time).. can you guys walk me through it so I do it correct? Or am I being to lazy lol thanks... ryan

Ryan, I would be happy to help you get your new phone all hacked up. The best way to get interactive support would be to jump on IRC, Im on during the daytime and there are lots of other helpful individuals if I am not around
