I can't find the OPs that said it but for those of you that claim that Metro isn't using Sprint/Verizon's towers...
Up yours.
They are clearly using the damn towers, about 10-20% of the tower's connections or whatever...can't remember what that clerk said at the Corporate office...due to them failing to pull out reliable 2G and RTTX or something. Wish I recorded the chat. (As for the 4G, that's been said they would be using their own personal thingys...but that's again on the TBC)
Its cause people have complained so much around the areas, and not just here in ol DFW, that they've been forced to retire some of their hardware and look into 'borrowing' or tenanting some of the big companies' own junk.
Only reason that its not the same feel, or even appears to be the same connection, is because we're getting the minimum signal that they can 'spare' so their premium customers get the best service possible. A coworker I know says that while he did hear that from a Sprint Rep from the last call he made about his Transform going on the fritz...that even then, its still not enough to satisfy the Metro peeps because they have to continuously shrink and change the amount of bandwidth/crap they have to send out.
I feel as if the Smartphone population is getting either overcrowded, or not getting enough data feeds to fill us all.
