Android for HP TouchPad?

Angry birds on my 7" Nook Color was very high resolution. I would think you have nothing to worry about. :D

Build Progress [Updated 10/8]

Looks pretty close! Only things that might affect my day-to-day use are the wifi sleep problems and the two minor video problems (rotation and codecs). Even the rotation isn't such a big deal - just rotate before you open the video.

EXACTLY! I could put up with it.

Several items fixed last night too. :D

Sounds like we might get HDMI too. webOS 3.0.4 supposedly supports HDMI out thru the usb port and Dal wanted to get a copy of the 3.0.4 kernel to add that feature.

Now, if we could just get someone on the inside to tell us when this final batch of HP Tablets that was promised by year's end, will drop - that will be icing on the cake!

I've seen where a few people that ordered 6 years ago are still getting them. I think they've got 2 people assembling them. :D

I appreciate all the updates, colchiro. I don't have the time to chase this info myself, so it helps to have someone collecting it here.

Dalingrin pulled a marathon last night and killed off a lot of the bugs. They're running out of stuff to fix: Build Progress [Updated 10/11]

Of course all the village idiots had to cheer him on when he posted issue #60.

Also, Dalingrin promised another video last night so should be one soon. I'm finding that strange since there's not much left so maybe this is more than just a video, like video+??

Last week I predicted a download over the weekend (didn't happen) or this week. Still looks like it could happen any time soon. :D

colchiro, are you going to flash as soon as there's a stable method, or sit back and let others work out the bugs?

I'm thinking I'll wait a couple of weeks, just to be safe.

I won't be waiting. I seriously dislike some things about WebOS. Actually, some of it isn't even WebOS - just the way certain events are handled in apps. Why do I need a new card for a new browser window/tab? I don't want to wait for that event to happen, it takes far too long and I can't force it to launch in the background while I keep browsing.

And why, despite this being considered "multitasking," do my new links not continue to load when I switch back to the other browser window?

Drives me batty.

I'll probably give it a couple of days to be on the safe side (don't think I'd be confident trying to recover it if it bricked) but other than that, CM7 ASAP for me please!

Colchiro probably already has it. He's probably already on Honeycomb... :)

I won't be waiting. As long as they have a way to restore if something goes wrong, I'll be flashing as soon as Colchiro tells me how! :)

Here's my take on waiting...

I'm under the impression that the first install will be via the webOS Novacom app (like the ACME installer video) and the only option for now will be dual boot. Subsequent updates hopefully will be via Rom Manager (very easy).

So if you do it right away or wait, the first part will probably be with the same file as released date (unless there's issues with it). Since you can dual boot, if you don't like it you can still play with webOS until a better version is out.

OTOH, it's ok to give it a day or so instead of being an early adopter. I've done that before too. :D

Here's that ACME installer video again.

I did a little research on Twitter and was reading Dalingrin's tweets.

He was ready to release a video 20 hours ago, "This is one video you don't want to miss =P"

Then the market issue came up (#65 many apps filtered in Market) and the video was postponed, "Last minute issues came up and we are going to concentrate on fixing".

I'm hoping that when that issue is cleared we can get on with the video, which I'm hoping is an install how-to... but we'll see. :D

It's so close I can almost taste that gingerbreaddy goodness! Looks like we're on track for my guess of end of October release!

So much for my guess then. On the other hand, eeeeeee! *excited squeals*

And I've completely changed my mind on waiting to install. I'll have a good read through the info once I finish work (only half an hour to go) and then I'll go for it. After all, it is dual boot so it's still going to be usable no matter what. And even if the worst comes to the worst, I'm sure you lovely people will help me fix it :D

Yup, when you break it, just drag your sorry a** over and make sure you bring enough pizza and beer to last until the things fixed... :D
QC (Quality Control) drops drastically after the first 30 minutes tho.

I didn't break it! Its all good.
Seems like novacom is the hardest part, the rest is a piece of cake. Or pizza even, if you prefer (I was assisted by both:)) Just trying to work out how little sleep I can function on tomorrow...

I heard my phone buzz last night at 1:00, either a notice of an updated Green video or a new Dalingrin tweet. Either way I managed to fall asleep (after moving my phone to something soft so I would hear it vibrate again).

Manage to quick install in 5 minutes before going to work. Considered gApps, but thought they might be included since no mention in the install txt file, but got to work and no market, no recovery. Thought I turned my TP off and it wouldn't boot at home... acted like the battery was dead, but power+home key brought it back with a half-dead battery. (It was fully charged this morning.)

Restored backups from my phone via TIBU and apparently the wifi access points data hosed my wifi since it wouldn't connect and wouldn't show any wifi connections so reflashed everything, including moboot. Didn't fix it so booted into recovery, and wiped data, restored TIBU apps and now seems better.

Now you know why they were hesitant to release it. :D
