Android for HP TouchPad?

It's much better now. Wifi seems better too (and lots of people are having wifi issues).

I've created two recovery backups so far. :D

Reboot into recovery is about the only thing that works in Rom Manager.

Easy install, great bootloader design, and it works extremely well for an Alpha...very promising for a stable release in the coming months! I am so psyched to have Android running on this $99 tablet! Making a donation to the CM team tonight, I hope everyone does the same.

Even if I was inclined to go ahead and install this, I don't have a day off until the 28th. And by then I'll be too exhausted to risk making a mistake in the installation. So there's no telling when I'll finally get around to it. My job stinks ...

I installed in about 10 minutes before leaving for work.

Then I had to fix it when I got home and install Google Apps and moboot, which took another 10-15. :D

When you installed the Google Apps, did you install them from that first screen that shows only once? I was on that screen when the market crashed. I assume that it doesn't show any apps that don't normally show up with searching from apps with Google as the developer.

It really was easy, except my HP Pavilion couldn't see the TouchPad when I plugged it in via USB. Had to use my Lenovo laptop. Wasted 30 minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.

I love that two HP machines couldn't speak to each other ...

Anyway, it's phenomenal, way better than I expected from an alpha. My only questions are:

1) How will we know when there are updated versions?

2) How will we install them? Is it pretty much like the original install process?

Here's how you'll know a new build is out:

When Rom Manager is ready, you can check for an update from there

Here's how you can update:
CW Recovery - copy update to TP, boot into recovery
Novacom - copy update to TP, go into usb mode
Download and install from Rom Manager when it's ready - easiest
