So long story short. I went to McDonalds, downloaded your deoxed ROM, made a new backup , and tried to flash, it failed with status 7 abort. Sometime after setting symlinks and starting to set permissions

Guys heads up, just reading up on KitKat the update locks out SD card external storage, so I don't think its a good idea to update I might be wrong but anyone get back to me on this if they find out more info on it

Do you still have the zip? If so, are you willing to edit a file inside and try again?

I made a flashable over on the Warp 4G forum to fix those issues. I will port it for you guys as well.

If I can edit it with my phone I'll give it a shot, don't have access to a computer right now
I think you can. If you grab es file explorer, you can zip/unzip. I will make a new file, just need to replace the one that is in the zip and re-zip.

K I have es file explorer I'll give it a try

i had to zip it i think. it would not let me attach it as a text file.

Replace this file
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
zip it, try flashing :)

If it does not work, please check the PhilZ log and see what it says. I believe it is under Advanced.

I won't have time to flash this tonight. Have a curfew at 10, but it will be the first thing I do in the morning at 6am

Meanwhile, I am uploading a new ROM with the change included for anyone else that is willing to try it. Will post the link in a few minutes.

How do I get custom recovery or root back[/QUOTE]

Root Instructions for full stock 4.4.2 devices

Download the stormer_test_unbrick.iso
Download SuperSU.zip and put it on the sdcard of your device
(optional - only if you want to install PhilZ too) Download PhilZ_recovery.zip and put it on the sdcard of your device

Enable USB debugging on your device - go to Settings > About phone. Tap on SW version several times until it says you are a developer. Hit back to get to the main settings, choose Developer options, check USB debugging, agree to the terms.

Use your favorite burning software to burn the iso image to cd. ImgBurn for windows is nice because it is free, easy, and effective. Personally I make bootable usb flash drives instead of cd's. There is a program called Unetbootin that makes the process very easy. Once the cd is burned or the USB flash drive is created, put it in your pc and reboot. Enter into your pc bios and change the boot order making the cd drive/flash drive the first to boot. Normally to get into pc bios, you need to press one of the following: del, f2, f10, or f12. It depends on the pc but it is usually right after the pc starts and it will say on the screen which one to press.

Plug in your device to the usb port.

Open the folder marked My Documents on the desktop
Then choose ZTE_Unbrick_Tool
Right click on partitions folder
Left click on Open in Terminal

Type the following in the terminal:
adb reboot bootloader
(you will need to accept something on the device at this point or it will say the device is unauthorized)

Once you are in bootloader type:
fastboot boot stormer_mmcblk0p16_recovery.img
(this will boot your device into PhilZ recovery. It will not install it, just boot to it. You will have the ability to use it as normal until you reboot)

(optional) Flash PhilZ_recovery.zip like a normal ROM on your device to install PhilZ
Flash SuperSU.zip like a normal ROM on your device. Reboot your device and enjoy root :)
this is how you need to do it

Has anyone tested Super Rs SD card fix or deodexed ROMs yet? I've been crazy busy and haven't had any time to root and test them.

Hopefully I'll be able to get it done later today as it's my day off. The sooner we test these out the sooner he can start building us some better ROMs.

We have boot! SuperR did you take out the browser? Its not a big deal if you did just want to make sure you did it and it just missing.
