Root Androot problem (keeps failing)

Okey dokey.
This will delete everything on the device, correct?
And afterward it will still be rooted?

no it won't as long as you only restore system and yes it is rooted then you can install nextheme

disregard the instructions of the OP in the nextheme thread that is for 2.1. Just take that zip and install it with rom manager

I don't where the advanced restore is. I'm in recovery and only see:
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

That's it...

***I just clicked reboot option and it took me to the Clockworld recovery screen. I went to advanced, but I don't see anything about recovery or selecting which backup to restore from...

thats the stock recovery, go into rom manager and press reboot recovery

its in the backup restore menu not advanced menu

Ok. I'm in ROM Manager now. But I looked in Manage and Restore Backups. Can I just select the deodexed backup from ROM Manager? Or does this not work?

I don't think it will be an advanced restore just press reboot recovery then do it

Either way, I'm restoring the deodexed using the Clockwork recovery and only backing up the "system". I hope this is right..

no you are backing up and only restoring the system of the deodexed version

Sorry for being so much trouble. What do you mean?
After restoring the system ONLY, my phone has rebooted now. I notice that some things are black themed.

Are you saying I did the right or wrong thing? If wrong, then what do I select to restore from the deodexed version/folder?

No thats right now you can install nextheme in rom manager or through recovery, just select install zip in either one

Everything is working great.
I'm not blaming rooting, but my battery life sucks right now. It's been unplugged for 2 hours. I sent one text and had a 4 minute phone call. It's at 90% already. And I'm pretty sure I have most, if not all, of the correct settings already preserve battery life.
