Root another question for the pros...

Hi everyone. Basically I just unlocked my HTC evo v 4g virgin mobile flawlessly. Now after following steps over and over I can't get the twrp 1.1.1 recovery to install. It will show the green install bar immediately at 90 percent full and just hang. I have done the rename to recovery.IMG and unchecked the one folder box. I'm on hboot 1.58. What could I be doing wrong. It's pretty easy to follow instructions.....

actually the corect forum you should go to is this one:EVO V 4G - All Things Root - Android Forums

i know it gets confusing with the different names.

basically the htc evo 4g for virgin mobile is virgin's version of the htc evo 3d....otherwise known as the htv evo v 4g.

anyways, any questions or anything like that you can post there as folks who have the phone rooted should be able to get you straight.

we can even move this thread there, if you like;)

Alright guys wrong section I know but I didnt wanna start a second thread. I used the fix provided above. Installed extracted and ran. It puts phone into fastboot and begins to work but then I get an error saying something about a Remote or something. The rest of The install works with no error. Also right at the beginning of the install it states something is out of date. Am I missing something. Thanks for getting me close to the right track guys !!

ok so i moved you to the evo v 4g ATR forum where folks can help you out better.

Sorry for all the questions. Really wish I woulda found this guide before I spent 8 hours trying.to figure a old guide out. So last question. I have my evo already unlocked. I have no recovery installed. I have the latest updates as well. Is it respectable to say I can skip preliminary steps and go to the next set

Yes, as long as you can boot into your ROM that's fine. Just skip the stuff that talks about unlocking the bootloader.

Please post any further questions in that thread so you don't get skipped over.
