I have had an awful time trying to make a custom ROM for my esteem. I was wondering if any of the esteem devs could help me out.i bricked my phone already and dont want to do it again. Ill pay for this, i really dont mind. Or if its not ok to solicit a developer ill make a "donation" to the dev.
So what im looking to do is combine a fee different elements from two different roms. Is this even allowed?
Anyway I'd appreciate some help.

I'd be happy to help you, and would do it for free! You just need permission from PG to use his stuff and just make sure credit is given to those who you used their work if you release! Hit me up in pm!

Im an electronics engineer not a software engineer. I have tried Android development and failed miserably. So this time im lowering myself to my wifes level and throwing money at the problem

You dont need permission to create your own ROM for your phone even when it uses parts of anyone elses work... What you need is permission to POST it for others to use and to give credit to the rightful people.

Damn kinda mean.
Mts has done incredible work on the revolution and esteem. Hes even willing to help us out for free. He's also a good Dev like PG.

PG said yes and how much. He offered to pay him, that's why I said that.

It's not about paying or getting for free. I was simply stating that since PG offered and ASKED HOW MUCH, that he should make sure credit is given where it's due.

How is that mean? Please enlighten me?



And in no offense to anyone else on here, it's not about who would build it for free or who would charge. It's about WHO you would want to BUILD the rom for you. I prefer PG's work for MY PERSONAL taste over other peoples. So therefore I WOULD RATHER PAY for something that would suit me than to get something for FREE THAT I WONT LIKE. Still trying to figure out how that was mean?

But that's my personal preference from other's on here. I appreciate every dev out there. But I don't have to like their work just because they are doing it right? So therefore I would go to the person's work that is best suited for me.

And I said PG's info is worth the money because I've gone to him for help and got it. Any other time I went to someone else for help I got nothing. No reply. Not even a NO.

Yeah right! A $4000 a month mortgage, $500 for child support and a wife that thinks everytime i pee money comes out. Im shorting myself on gas for this month on a `39 ford flathead v8 that gets 11mpg. Im only doing it because,while i am a master in my specific field, im a 4 year old doing calculus when it comes to software

And thats why i offered PG specificly. Not that anyone elses work is less involved but he has what i want.

I hope your ROM turns out great whoever does it. We are fortunate to have a great set of Devs here willing to do all of this for us.

Just curious. What do all of you devs do for a living? Are you all college grads or self taught garbage men? I have always wanted to know. I personally went to tech school but i have tinkering with electronics since i took apart my Atari when i was a kid and once i saw what was inside i was hooked.

They work for NASA and The Government. :D:D:D
 
I too work for a lucrative electronics firm. But due to certain nondisclosure agreements i cant say which one. I miss being a garbage man sometimes
