Any Gun owners out there?

I just had the thought:

a bright RED laser in the eyes of a perp..... would that not possibly blind him, IF you held it on his eye balls??
maybe pointed at the forehead or the mouth? would be all the encouragement needed for them to lay flat down on the floor and stay there?

seems like that would be a deterrent so that you just might NOT have to pull the trigger?

Depending on how quickly he's moving, I think it's safer just to shoot. Aiming a laser at the eyes of a moving target, especially one moving towards you, is going to take a bit of focus and time for the chance that it might stop him.

I agree, the sound of a Browning auto loading a shell, will normally cause any sane thinking person to leave in a hurry.

The only shotgun I own is a single barrel break down that I got for Christmas 65 years ago :)

So, it will have to be the sound of my Hi-Point .45 ACP being racked back and let loose. That is almost as loud, and means much the same thing...

The Ruger LC9S is ready to go, just pull the Safety off, and pull the trigger..

I think it's a Chinese copy Mauser C96 replica.

Just curious how many Veterans own/posted here, how many hunters, how many southerners, how many northerners?
and maybe a state indication would be interesting. I live in NC most of the time and it is very easy to purchase just about anything. Truly a very pro 2nd amendment state.

the Androider is on the central plains, can't ya see? :)

and the 2nd Amendment is very much alive here, with 'open carry' by law long before there was a 'CCW' law.

Having a CCW license actually puts the owner at greater risk of going to jail, than no CCW license at all... just open carry, or leave it on the table by your bed.... the perp walks in, and you don't let him leave alive... drop him right there....

We have the Castle Doctrine here and that carries right into your car, your hotel room, etc...

Now if you violate a Protection Order, and you are still holding a weapon in your hands when the LEO arrives, it is all over baby.

just this past Tuesday some idiot decided to have a word with his "estranged wife" who had a protection order out on him. He had two long guns in the window of his pickup, and was waving a handgun around in the air of the truck's cab.....

the LEO issued an order to desist, the guy gunned the motor and tried to run over the LEO...

dumb dumb dumb

happened about 6 miles west of my home.

You might think that, but you might be surprised to learn that if you actually draw grab hold of it in public, it's brandishing a firearm. Even though it's just a blunt instrument...

here in Oklahoma, IF you even open your jacket and it is visible to the perp, you have just brandished your weapon at him and you will go to jail if he files a complaint.

Open carry has its' advantages, and disadvantages..
1. the perp knows it is there and if in front of you, will likely back off and go away.
2. if the perp is behind you, he can possibly take it away from you and use it on you.

I have a CCW, but I am a newbie at carrying period. I am betwixt and between as to whether I want it to be in the open, or if I want it to be hidden. the latter has the advantage of you being able to catch the perp unawares and do something if he is about to maim you and you are "in fear of your life"..... and that needs to be on video for the judge and jury to see....

a lot to be said for those little video cameras that hang around your neck, or pin to your lapel...

I have a video camera mounted to the windshield of my Goldwing motorcycle...

If your curiosity is piqued, you might want to check out Ballistically Speaking, a forum more focused on these sorts of topics.
Which makes me wonder...is there a "Any Android Owners Out There" thread at Ballistically Speaking? :D:D
To your specific inquiry, though, I'm not a veteran, and I'm (presently) a westerner, living close to S.F., Ca. I think we have a few laws about firearms here. ("Second amendment? What's that?")
I lived in Marin for 15 year; you can't even mention " gun " anywhere without getting crucified. There was a lot to love out there but other things no so much.
I'll check out your link. It was funny after posting it I wondered if I mighta offended any Westerners. Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, AZ, NV and all of the others who think of them self as westerners. I Know they love their guns! Not sure what Texans and Oklahoman's consider them self to be; southerns or westerners? I think Texans think of them self as onto them self. That is not a knock. I was in the service with Texans and I'd never mind having one of them along if trouble might show up. :D

Frankly I'm happy to live in a place, where I don't have to keep such things about.

Like I'm in China, and not Syria or Afghanistan or something. :)
Oh.. Ooh, OK. THAT'S better, where almost everyone in the general population could have someone broken in pieces before that individual could pull the weapon! [emoji12] Lmao. Really impressive hand/footwork, in all seriousness. Very efficient & lots of respect. As for weapons of ANY kind:

That.. Looks like a plastic airsoft gun, but the rounds in the seemingly clear magazine is throwing me off..??

Its an israeli design. Tavor x95 by iwi.
It takes ar15 /m16 magazines.
There are at least 2 translucent magazines made now.
Lancer & ets.
Pictured mag is ets

Lol, I need that.

Renewed my Utah concealed weapons permit. I wasn't able to do that until my Nevada permit arrived as they require a copy of your home state permit if you reside in a state that recognizes Utah. Because Nevada started recognizing Utah in July, I had to wait.

Just ordered a Century Arms imported(not manufactured by) Zastava NPAP underfolder AK-47.

I am so excited to get it.
