Any Gun owners out there?

I thought this merited a cross post to this thread. :p

I'm a "Veteran of the Peace", that rare period between Vietnam and the Marine barracks bombing.

No combat-trained veterans in Android Forums, none at all?
I find this hard to believe...

Army Artillery Forward Observer, 1984 to 1993. Never saw a shot fired in anger.
Got to shoot LAW in basic with scaled down practice rounds.
When I was in basic we test fired the AT-4. Unfortunately since it was recoilless, the test round was a 9mm tracer round. You would hold this giant tube on your shoulder,go through all the trigger flips and aiming, etc., pull the trigger and get a little *plink* on the other end instead of a boom. :p

I did get qualified on an M-203 grenade launcher, but never got to fire live rounds. Just giant powder balls. Strange thing to aim as the sites are downrange but the rifle is pointed up in the air. Plus you could pull the trigger, take a sip out of your canteen, read a chapter of a good book, then look up and watch the round arc towards the target.

Lot of grenadiers here..

Surprisingly I did use live full power explosive and smoke grenades for practice but it was out of the bloop gun. The M79 is one of those guns where if you miss, you're screwed unless your squad is backing you up. It's basically a short wide barrel shotgun Why they never issued buckshot rounds I'll never know.

H'mm, might be some money in producing those if they haven't been invented yet. Maybe a round like that violates the Geneva Convention or something?

I joined the USAF 2 years later. And being in Law Enforcement I guess training to use rounds like that would have been overkill for my specialty. They never even mentioned them at Camp Bullis where I trained in Air Base Ground Defense before going to Patrol Dog school back at Lackland AFB where I took Basic & LE training. I got really good with that piece.

Maybe I should just apply for a basic firearms license limited to rifles and shotguns? Wouldn't help much if I did get one. All the gunshops in Boston are closed and you can't even get a catalog crossbow delivered to Massachusetts anymore.

If the French had their own 2A, things on that supermarket hostage situation could have had a vastly different outcome. Take away the rights for people to protect themselves, they become helpless and powerless.

I've been looking for a Sig Sauer P365. It's a sub compact that stock holds ten rounds of 9mm. It's a hot item right now so they are scarce.
I could place my name on a waiting list many places but until I grip one, I'm not certain I would like it. I think it would make an ideal carry for summer clothing.

@olbriar , Whatever happened to that one rifle model where all the pieces fit in the stock?.. I think it was you that showed us something like that. What make and model was that? I ask because I would love to possibly get one, would be great for easy storage
