Root Any way to do a soft root?

Back before gingerbread, I used z4root to soft/temp root my phone. I don't care to go all out and wipe the phone and install new ROMS, I've done it before on my moment and I just don't feel like going to the trouble on Evo.

Is there a way (yet) to obtain a temp root since the gingerbread update?

I really only use it to freeze apps on my phone through titanium and (very) occasionally wifi tether, as well as use certain apps to mass clear the cahe, but I just used an app the other day that did that without root.

So are there any work arounds yet? I hate this stupid bloatware starting up on it's own.

You can root the phone with out having to change the ROM. Rooting the phone allows you to take out what you want. I don't know if there is a way to "Soft Root" now or not. However getting s-off is all you really need to do. Personally I would put a recovery on just in case things went wrong down the road you could do a restore.

yeah unfortunately the gingerbread ota closed the expoit the z4 used to gain temp root. there is not temp root now. just root your phone. it is pretty easy to do just read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html.

plus let me just say that there are plenty of roms that are waaaaaaaaaaaaay better then the stock rom. root your phone and try mikg 2.59 it has sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 built in. it is stock but with all of the bloatware removed. it has the hacke sprint hotspot. it is very fast and stable.

just root your phone my friend, i guarantee you that you will not be disappointed. plus you have AF to back you up, if you need help.
