app for disabeling the unlock swipe

The only time my lock comes back is after a power off, then I have to click the widget. Other than that I've had zero problems, lock's off and stays off.

There are 3 settings:
sleep auto - lock will activate, swipe to get rid of it like normal
awake stay - lock will not activate, can press the power, volume rocker or camera key to turn the screen on
screen stay - the screen is always on

I was just telling someone at work, that one of my cons was that I could only hit lock/power button to unlock then always had to swipe. Just installed this app, and already like it.

i can't use it.deleted it...being able to wake it up by the rocker and camera button was the killer. it turns on when i holster it. i wish we could disable the rocker and camera buttons to wake it up.

I could have sworn there was an app that allowed you to unlock your phone with just pressing the power button....cant remember the name though

Maybe the developer could add a 4th option - "Double press power key only"

I gotta get that app I was having trouble answering my phone all day. When I would swipe to answer it would go halfway and the back to start missed calls all day cuz of it.:mad:

i would use this app if they disabled the side buttons..

Perhaps they will make that happen and someone will post back here?

:)

I'd like an app that puts the lock on a timer, so that you have to swipe it if the phone's been locked for <X minutes, but have to enter the unlock code if it's been locked for >X minutes. Like how the iPhone works.

It's a pain entering the lock code every time I want to change the song I'm listening to or pause or just check my email, but I don't like the insecurity of having a phone without some sort of passcode lock. And I like the way the regular unlock swipe tool works.

AutoLock does this. Its not quite perfect yet, sometimes the timer won't work right and it will still lock but it has the right idea and works most the time.

ScreenModeWidget didn't work for me. Downloaded it yesterday morning, never activated it, but by afternoon, my phone went wacky: lost all networks, shut itself off/turned itself on several times, "click" would sound when icons on home screen were pushed, but nothing would happen. After 3rd shutdown, phone would not re-start at all. So I headed for the Verizon store, signed-in, then while waiting, fiddled around and finally got phone to turn back on. Figured it was worth a shot, so I tried uninstalling last thing loaded - ScreenModeWidget - and voila', my perfect-acting Droid was back, no problems before or since...(knock wood)...

Unfortunately, AutoLock isn't free. And if I'm gonna pay for an app, it better work nearly perfectly every time. And the reviews indicate that this doesn't.

I emailed the dev a while ago about seeing if only the power button would unlock. He agreed it was a good idea and offered to look into it. That was the last I heard. Maybe a few more emails might motivate him to find a solution?

I am going to send him one today. Having the power button unlock the phone would be ideal.

coming from the iphone, i have no problem having to swipe to unlock, its never bothered me. apparently im one of a few :o

Does anyone know of an app that will disable the unlock screen and only turn the screen on with the power button.
