I think it'll sell well regardless.

Over here in the UK it'll probably be the first phone that has LTE so people are gonna have that forced down their necks!

Ive had it pointed out to me already tonight even though my phone has every other single feature of the new phone and still has hardware in it that the i5 doesnt have.
 
IIRC, didn't Apple use Microsoft phones as an example of what a phone that doesn't copy Apple products look like in the Apple Vs Samsung trial?

Apple would have never came up with the iPad if it wasn't for Microsoft tablets.

I don't think it matters, because most of the iphone sheeple will only see it is an upgrade to the 4S; the likely won't even compare it to Android. My bet is ppl will still be lined up outside the Apple Store for days, waiting to throw their money out for Apple's latest and greatest phone.
 
Apple needs to go into a cave with their billions and work on innovating again. This phone feels like something they quickly thrown together and bam, please buy it.... I just don't see 4s users throwing their money at this... It'll probably sell regardless, but I'll place money it won't break records..
 
So am I the only one who is grinning VERY smugly at owning a SG3? What a beauty. I love this phone and Android. Hahaha the SG3 still blows it out the water.

And l0l at that screen resolution, wtf?

I used to have an iPhone 4 loved it, then got bored.

For the sake of innovation and competition I was hoping that all the leaked iPhone 5 stuff was misinformation and that Apple was to announce something really special.

Sadly we know that didn't happen

When I jumped ship to the S3 two weekends ago, it felt like I was escaping from a POW camp. It's great to have an OS with options again... and a platform that adapts to consumers needs, rather than vice versa.
 
People will still buy this in their droves and I wouldn't be surprised if it broke all sorts of sales records. But I can see the more rational of the current IPhone owners thinking 'in comparison Samsung s3 offers more, and is cheaper!'
 
I just posted about this topic on another forum and stated, don't under estimate loyalties. Those who don't realize there are other choices out there will buy the new iPhone and will love it.

Anyone else notice today that Apple never compared themselved to their competition but kept comparing the i5 to the i4s? Obviously they know they can't compete with a lot of the new phones out there. What they released today doesn't even bring them up to the S3 and they will wait another year before they release another phone. Can you imagine how outdated the i5 will be in 6 months??

How is it a huge bust? Ill admit i came from a 4S to a S3 and i still like apple products, but what are you guys expecting from Apple? A quad core a-15, 128 gb, 16 megapixel phone? The S3 wasnt that big of a upgrade from the S2. Iphone 5 A6 is double the speed of the A5 both computationally and graphically. The a5 gpu is still one of the fastest mobile gpus on the market and the A6 takes the helm now. Its also 20% thinner, 20% lighter and 13% less volume. They added 4G, increased color saturation by 44% and improved the already very good camera even more. I think its a great upgrade and one of the biggest updates to their smartphone ever.

Alright this is such a ridicolous statement? Apple cant compete with other smart phones? Iphone is still the number 1 sold smartphone and it will continue to smash sales records. Plus im curious to hear why you think it doesnt bring the phone up to par with the S3? I might sounds like a apple fanboy but i am actually just very interested in smartphones and technology itself. I think the iphone 5 brings its self right up to the S3 if not just a little bit more then the S3, but i dont care because the S3 it self is lightning fast and the pebble blue version that i have is beautiful imo

YES, we ARE expecting those specs, and android phones will have those specs next year.

apple basically improved upon outdated tech with less, but still, outdated tech. it'll be seen as spectacular by those who never set foot outside an idevice but for android users, the galaxy s2 came out last year man.

the galaxy s3 isnt much of an upgrade from the S2. yeah, well...neither is the iphone 5. in fact its a downgrade. my $149 non-contract Lg motion could give this phone a run for its money.

i'll agree with you on one thing. it wont be a bust, at least from a sales standpoint. it will be purchased hand over fist by the many loyal apple users.

Downgrade? How so? It has the fastest mobile GPU in a phone once again, it has a top of the line camera, ultra thin and sleek, 8 hours mobile browsing on LTE which btw is amazing, and a amazing ecosystem. Plus what do you think is outdated in the phone? I need to hear this... me thinks someone is jealous. Plus thats NEXT YEAR, i gursntee you the iphone 6 will have those specs

What are you talking about them adding 4G? Because they added 4G at the perfect time, righy when sprint announced a huge 4g lte rollout plan and Verizon and ATT being on a role rolling out 4G heavily. Honestly i dont see much difference feature wise comparing S3 to the 4S it self besides a few things so i dont see this as a valid point
