Apps that DO work on Droid

Bluetooth on/off fails for me too. I added the bluetooth settings button to the homepage though; a click or 2 extra, but easy enough.

There is an easier way - use the Power Settings Widget - 1 click access to enable / disable WiFi, BT, GPS, and Sync (and brightness, but I have brightness set to auto, so I don't use that button).

It works, and it works really well. can't argue that it is a part of hte OS natively either.

It may not look as aesthetically pleasing as some of hte apps out there, but I am sticking with it.

Work:
CalWidget
DigiClock Widget
Foursquare
Loopt
MagicMarker
OpenTable
PicSay
SMS Popup
The Weather Channel - I know its listed already but I wanted to mention that the App & Widgets both work
Weather Widgets (Note that it asks for location updates A LOT if you don't choose the GPS option)

It seems everyone is sure locale works with the Droid, but after setting up GPS locations, it never seems to turn anything on/off based on that location. And the GPS is on and in Google Maps shows exactly where I am. Any tips?

Text Easy (a good app for mass texting) just got updated. At the very least, good for those of us who have to let everyone know about our new number

iFight Pro now works on the Droid. A motion activated gun, whip, sword, slap, punch etc. sound generator. I think you would like it.

Don't get the use of this app...opens showing all 700 of my contacts, I have to scroll to each one I want to send a text to and select them...Doesn't appear to offer a way to set up groups. What am I missing?

Mine worked for a bit but it didn't really work. THe locations were all wrong and it didn't recognize my own house. Also it made my phone go screwy.

I've only set it to turn sound off at night, but that works fine. It does seem to be the culprit that keeps changing my wallpaper from my openhome theme. I haven't tried the locations yet, but it seems that only works if you get a good gps signal. I get inconsistent gps when in my house, although it works fine in the yard.

Dock Runner - toggle dock mode of your Droid for free!
works perfect, would be nice if you could change screen orientation to upside down, so the charging cable isn't in the way, but great app anyway.
And saved me 30 big ones i would have to shell out for a home dock :)

WiFi Analyzer - does what its name implies :) nice app.

TV.com - cool app, could use more full episodes. Nice design, easy nav, decent video quality.

hope this one helps :)

I haven't had any adverse effects, but it seems to not work at all. I'm going to try just set by time once and see if it is something with the GPS settings.

A problem with handcent on the Droid. I keep getting two popup Windows. When a text arrives.

Edit: Don't know what the problem was, but exchanged my Droid today for a new one and am only getting one pop-up now. :) LOVE Handcent...

Thank you guys for all the posting
I have been playing with my phone from 4 days now. My favorite apps
1. Assistant Personal - let;s you add all the accounts on the phone: utilities, verizon, credit card, checking, savings, e-mail, my space etc.... shows the bill and remaind you when they are due
2. Calorie Counter - barcode, list of menu from diverse restaurants, grocery items, tell you calories and other info and add it automatically in calendar where you can view all week what you had for breakfast, lunh and dinner.
3ShopSavvy - barcode scanner, wish list, price alerts and history
4. Dizzler - you can listen to songs and see the lyrics
5. AndBankBook - you can put your credits and debits - if you are like me and you cannot find your bank online
6. eBuddy - IM for all your e-mails including facebook - adds them all in one account and you can chat with yahoo and facebook buddies in the same time
7. Budget Droid
9> Steamy Window - the screen becomes foggy and you can write on, blow on the speaker and gets foggy again
10. Screen Crack - when you get tired for ppl to ask question you can put this screen that looks broken... lol
Documents to GO - $15 but you can edut, view Word, Excel, Power Point and PDF files - awesome
and now more that are not as cool: handycalc, tipper, GPS Speedometer, color note

Panda home beta .99 works really well. Very smooth using the default icon theme, allows the addition of more than three homescreens with significantly smoother screen transitions. check it out.

* K-9 Mail

...fixes 99% of the default email client's issues. So many more features and configurable options, even more than Outlook Mobile...even has "sort messages" feature. Some things missing are the ability to "undelete" from Trash, but you have time to recover, to DL "all messages" in the account (may be possible with the "Load 100 more" option), and to move the message store to the SD card...however I had to do a "registry mod" on my WinMo phone in order to do that.

One caveat is that it may not work with Hotmail "Plus" or "paid" accounts, but my basic hotmail account works fine. Outbox, Sent, Trash, or other folders won't auto sync and display, until there is actual activity in them from the phone, and a sync cycle happens.

Free from Market...and you can even change colors. ;)

just feel the need to chime in, the Album Art Grabber is a bad4ss app. Its not free and I have no affiliation, but it works perfectly for every album I have tried. WAY worth the money for the time saved.

Genisoidlite works well. Quadformulasolver, Elements, Unit Converter,Droid Dice, Shopsavy, the schwartz unsheathed, USA Today, ringdroid. all work flawlessly on Droid.
