Are the Battery issues really that bad on the TBolt?

i think im going with this theory as well, just to all over the board with results
 
I get six hours of hard use on the stock battery

Right now I am at 35 hours on 3.5 awake.

I'm quite content with my battery
 
I actually was not satisfied with the battery life with the TB, even though i am a big fan of HTC ( the only brand i will buy in the android os phone) but last nite i shut off the 4g and left 3g on and its doing pretti good guys! I guess becuz its a first 4g phone the battery isn't really tested out yet but i am sure on the next update it will be fixed!

Yep, something else for people to keep in mind. The LTE network is new and not as robust as the 3G network yet. Because of that our phones have more of a chance that they will have to be searching for signals more then normal. This happens with 3G as well as CDMA will always look for the strongest signal, the good thing about that is you should always have the best signal quality, the trade off is it will effect your battery life.

Now with the newness of LTE, we will be searching for a signal more, and add to that the network not having all the bugs worked out. The 4G will effect battery life.

Bump charge it till ur showing 99%-100% after a reboot. Then and wipe battery stats.

Dramatically lowers the 'reboot drop'..
 
1st: apologies for being the Android n00b. I'm a droid virgin; be gentle.

Perhaps the schooled users could fill in the blank about 'expected' battery life for me. Color me spoiled, but I got used to 10-12 days w/o having to charge my old (read: archaic) LG enV (and yes, I have finally joined the 21st century w/ this phone, TYVM). And now I might get 36 hours with my new Thunderbolt. I switched off the GPS & WiFi, dropped the brightness down and I'm not continuously running any (many?) apps that weren't pre-installed (removing some of them is my next question, for another thread). But you can imagine my shock: going from recharging once every couple weeks to every night? I don't take a lot of calls, play a lot of games or anything, even TXT use is minimal. And we don't have 4g here yet, so I'm still on a 3g network.

So I guess I'm just curious what I should expect from the phone? Should I just plan to toss it on the charger every night, overnight? Do I need to be mindful of any apps that stop the from sleeping (because I haven't installed many, but one or two might have that 'feature')?

With my original Droid, it started off lasting a couple nights on high use, but by the end it was every night. My Windows Mobile phones I was also charging every night, I am a above average texter...

I know the older flip phones used to last me days and days...but I would have to say...get used to charging it every night.
