Help Ask and Answer Evo V Edition

I can't figure tabs out. The browser works just as well as any other mobile browser.

In the default browser hit the info button on the bottom, the second over and select windows, then you can change between "tabs". I think it limits you to like 6 then it says you need to close one to open another.

Go to Google Play on the internet, and you'll see every app you ever downloaded, from there you can instruct what apps you want reloaded and on which mobile.

How do you think I will feel when I upgrade from my current Intercept?
...lol

Also moving over from the Intercept. We must have been the last 2! I'm on preorder from BB but my $25 plan doesn't end until the 25th of this month so I am being patient. But it's difficult being patient with the good reviews I am reading so far!

What kind of bloatware are we looking at out of the box?

airG chat
connected media
dock mode

facebook
facebook chat
flash player settings
friendstream
htc hub
media share
messenger
my account

polaris office

Make that 3! I've been hanging on to my old Samsung Intercept waiting on ICS, more memory, faster processor, and a larger screen. Now if only VM will ship my Evo V order...

:)

Only 2 of them are virgin's crap.

Yeah I wasn't sure if most of these would be categorized as bloatware, so about halfway thru I just decided to start listing everything that didn't look part of android.

It's not that bad.. air chat and a movie app and the normal pre load on a media handset like this.. You can take screen shots right out of the box and it has most of the stuff I would root for covered well on this Evo V.. I started with like 400mb of free space so it had room for it..

This handset I have is showing like 900mb of free ram now and 350mb of internal memory I mean it is crazy big for a pre paid!! It's a bigger SD card the media hungry will need to get to make it shine..

That said I hate having a company forcing me to use a app when the andriod market is there?? Especially when it eats up over 3/4 of the internal memory allotted?? It makes no sense to me as I can't wait to see this handset senseless with 4G and 3D and all that other crap off there they put on it and go vanilla.. Jez is that to much to ask??

The sense on this handset is very nice and not in the way and fast so I will try to live with it for a while before I decide if I need to operate on it.. You could free up a huge amount of internal memory with full root and a new rom but I don't need it..

hows the texting app thats already on the phone? when it's on vibrate is it noticeable or is it just a short vibration like the optimus v?

Vibration is the same as the Motorola droids with the 2 short vibrations for incoming SMS's I installed Handcent SMS and now I control my notifications and just use that app. I think its nicer then the stock one TBH.

The reason I rooted my MT was to be able to:

use my bt hid keyboard

Have a cpu governor (battery)

Backups

Upgrade the gui

I don't have my new 3VO yet. It already has:
Bt hid
Upgraded gui

I found that I didn't use Ti Backup, but did like nandroid backups in Clockwork Recovery.

My biggest question is: does it cpu throttle out of the box?

After that it comes down to how much Sense I can tolerate. I have become very happy with GO Launcher, so I assume the ICS version will be good too.
