Hello everyone,
Happy Easter! :)

Your battery will drain a lot faster than normal within the first 24-48 hours from the install! You will have to let your phone completely drain a couple of times before you see improvements! The battery needs to collaborate with the new kernel!

I have been working really hard for several months trying to compile this thing and I finally got a working kernel!

Kernel REF:
[REF][TWEAKS] Kernel Governors, Modules, I/O Schedulers, CPU Tweaks, AIO App Configs - xda-developers

I finally managed to overclock the device successfully as in the pictures below!

WARNING!!! WARNING!! WARNING!!
MAKE A NANDORID BACKUP!
GO INTO CWM
-BACKUP AND RESTORE
-BACKUP

Features:
overclock to 864 [864 default]
added I/O Schedulars noop, cfq, and bfq [deadline default]
added govenors interactive, smartass, and smartassv2 [performance default]

Source:

Quick Note:
OC to 864 may not work with your device! Each Phone acts different when OC! 864 may be stable for me, but may not be for yours! Just play around with the settings to see witch values is stable for your device!
Also please use No-frills CPU Control from the market for best results!

Please Test and leave as much feed as possible!

You should be able to flash over your current rom with no problems at all!
Also you shouldn't need to wipe anything!

How to install:
Boot into CWM
-Install zip from sdcard
-choose zip from sdcard
-Kernel1.0
Reboot

Kernel1.0
Kernel1.0.zip
(password kernel1.0)
[please do not mirror]

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but since it is about the system software, I'll do so. Is there a way to set this phone to work with a 2g network? My assumption is that 3g uses more battery just trying to maintain connections and if I only need the phone for just phone calls and not data, is this something that could be worked into the OS?

Thanks for all the work so far on this phone. It has made it usable and something I don't mind keeping for a few months until the SIII comes out. I used installed the kernel and one.two successfully but now after the kernel update there is almost two seconds of lag between when I press the power button and when the lock screen actually comes on. Is there a setting I need to change to make this better? I am using the same setup you have pictured (245min, 864max, noop, smartassv2)

Thank You vary much for pointing this out!
I know what the problem is in my rom. I will update my rom with this kernel in it and it should be more stable.

Hi anthony. I installed your kernel and is very well done and stable :) , but the android system info says that the max value that makes the 787mhz :( . can I use a cpu program to pick up? If not, what can I do to redeem all of its potential. I tried to be burdened with a few games that would make him at 864mhz, but the last frequency it is 787mhz. Great job thanks.

After spending some more time with the update I will also say I have had no stability problems since the install. Standby time is greatly improved but things like the siriusxm app eat battery faster than my old captivate. I need to play around some more with clock frequencies to find the right balance but with light to moderate texting/talking/occasional web browsing I can easily get through an entire day with about 20% left.

The only thing I would request is BLN control in the kernel. The serendipity rom I used before had it and without a notification LED I relied pretty heavily on that functionality. I am not sure if it is difficult or not to implement but its the only thing I am missing on this. Thanks again for all your work.

Use the cpu app listed in the op!
No-frills CPU Control You should be able to oc up to 864, but like I have mentioned each phone acts different with the kernel. You have to find what is stable for your device.

I coped with the CPU :D . My roamer is now faster and more vivid, and everything is ok ;) . It may be a little faster batery spent, but I'm willing to compromise when such is the speed in question. You've done a super job and I'm very sorry that we will not be able to try all this when you're finished, and all merged into one, tvo. This problem whit SMS will be ours from Europe to limit the stock rom and now that we use.I now use the Brazilian VIVO stock rom which is slightly faster than our stock VIP Serbian Rom. I hope you have time and inclination to fix it ,and make happy us from Europe. :)

Be careful about OC'ing straight to 864. Fyi, the healthiest speeds are about two notches above the highest OC level you can go.

;)

I've never heard of BLN control before? Is our device capable of this?

I am not entirely sure. The notification buttons light up sometimes so I know the light is usable but I have no idea if it actually would work. Maybe its just a Samsung thing because now that I actually look for some information it only seems to be available on the galaxy s line of phones I used to have. Too bad too because that was some great functionality.

You rock, Anthony. Installed perfectly, and it seems to be a bit smoother. I'll know better once I run my battery out a few times. But, Sonic 4 is working a lot more smoothly, and Final Fantasy isn't taking quite as long to transition in between screens.

anyone else having problems with bluetooth? When i enable bluetooth it pumps my cpu usage to 90-95% and stays like that until a reboot. I had this problem on one.one and one.two so i flashed back to stock, rerooted and installed this kernel and now the problem is back. So it must be something in the kernel causing it. Any ideas?

edit: i ssaw that someone mentioned in another thread that they thought it may just be something related to root access that is causing the high cpu usage so i reset my phone again. Now im running stock rom with stock kernel and the cpu usage does still go up to maybe 70% max. So i do think its probably something with the kernel.

I saw that Motorhead was working on a new ROM that was able to be overclocked to 1.15Ghz.

Is there an easy way to modify this script to include just that single change?

Clockwork says: you must install clockworkmod recovery before continuing. If then gives a list of phones, but the avail is not listed. What did you guys do to get it to work?

I followed and double-checked every step in the above link. It only gives the options for Android in menu. No option for CWM. Any ideas?
