Root [Avail] [Kernel] Kernel1.0 (Update Apr 7 11:33) [Released!]

Idiot here, I was not including a space after recoveryin the command. Sorry I doubted the process. :

Anywhere to download Kernel1.0 besides Mediafire???? After 6 downloads that appeared successful, when I attempt to install through CWM, it says it (bad). All of them bad??

I use this kernel, and my SD is partitioned and have no problems. I partitioned it in the phone with Clockwork mod. From what I understand, hard swap is performing the steps while the phone is running? In that case, no. Partitioning the card in the phone wipes the card.
You need an app to access the second partition too. Link2sd is what I use.

I use the same method. An ext2 partition and link2SD, maybe im only getting greedy, but I read a little bit about creating a third partition on your SD card, a linux swap partition that increased space and preformance, but it only works if its supported by the kernel you are using. Ive been running anthonys kernel now for about a week and it is rock solid, I just wondered if it supported swap. I guess thats a question for Anthony himself.

I have seen something about that in these forums but can't remember exactly which one. I do need to read more into that, though.

put the kernel in w/ the stock ROM.
running at 825 looks good so far... definitely a noticeable peppiness. :)

tomorrow I put in the 32GB class 10 card and start re-populating apps....

I'm running the stock ROM with this kernel and using the settings as Anthony has shown with the no-frills overclocking utility. I am curious about something having run this for a week or so now, using the information from no-frills, it seems like the cpu stays at full speed pretty much all the time with just very short dips to lower speeds even if in airplane mode and sitting idle, is this normal or should it down clock to save battery?

Depends on what is running. Background processes and certain apps will keep it high. Try setting a different govenor. Then again, you may have a needy app downloaded.

Thanks Russ. I'll try to isolate some of the most likely culprits but i have a feeling it will turn out to be something like Avast or Llama, both of which I rather like having on the phone.

SmartassV2 should run like the ondemand governer, something ain't right.

That was my first guess, Motorhead. I found that the apps to change the not. bar appearence and anti-virus apps drain battery and/or data real quick. With all the apps available, kinda needed more info.

While poking around in no-frills I found an option to show deep sleep on the cpu status which now accounts for a huge portion of on time for my phone which makes sense since I don't use it that much. Still, nearly a 100% of the time it isn't in deep sleep mode, the cpu is at 864.

Could just be the way I use the phone, but I think I might reset it this week and start from scratch and see if that is the case.

Before you go through all that, try bringing the o.c. down a notch or 2. I run at 806, 825 and change the govenor to performance or conservative depending on how hard I'm pushing it. If that doesn't make much difference in your case, I guess a fresh start might be the key. Just trying to save you some time.

I never had a problem with avast sucking juice down... And I'm to the point where I change the not. bar manually :P.

You have ICS not bar installed, not an app? And all the stock notifications work? If so, how? The green GB is just shy of hideous. ICS Blue is alot easier to look at.

I don't mind messing around with it, kinda reminds me of back when computers were still new and I spent a lot of time messing things up and figuring out how to fix my mistakes. I'll start off with this though and see if that gives me any indication if something is wrong or not.

I can't dl the one.xxx anywhere and I had issues with the SD I had 1.0 on. It was probably the cologne that spilled on it. Is one.xxx only on Mediafire, cuz even with the password, it says its downloading but its only a small file that comes thru and CWM says its bad.

As a follow up to my earlier posts, the offending app appears to be Avast, keeping my cpu maxed out for one reason or another which I'm now trying to figure out.

I had the same issue with Avast. Another security app said I was rooted right out of the box. If things start acting odd or you get strange actions from your phone, generally speaking, looking to a recently installed app will give you the answer.
