I have Stayboogy's 777MHz OC and a SD-EXT partition for Link2SD with this ROM and they work fine. Am I misunderstanding what you'd like?

Stayboogy's roms support Sd-ext native, well no extra stuff needed on my end anyway, just repartitioning the SD card

I'm not positive but last I knew his ROMs didnt so sd-ext automatically, but used his dalvik-cache moving script. Thats gives a ton of room and very little internal storage is used on boot, but you had to use something else to move to EXT.

I used to run his kernel with my ROM for a month or so and I used Link fine with it.

Hey, out of ideas - it's been almost a month since last ROM update announce already) is it upcoming 4th of July present for all of us? ;)

Maybe. It does seem like I end up doing stuff around holidays. :D
Happy Independence day! :D Looking forward for new fw to arrive...

BTW, I think localization options is another useful feature to add - currently there's only English interface language available and possibility to integrate RUS, FRA, GER, SPA, etc. langpacks + enable 'Language selection' radiobutton/toggle in settings would be great!

does this rom toss out all the at&t junk files, and most importantly does it remove the auto-update feature that att added to it, if so i'm going to be putting this on an avail ASAP, just wish there was a way to back up apps and then put them back, as i'll loose so many nice scores in so many games, lolx.

you can backup apps with titanium backup and just restore them

the question i was asking was if this rom did away with the junk apps that att put on the phone, as well as if it would keep att's OTA updates from eating up all my free space, the answer to both of those i now know because i went ahead and formatted the phone with clockworkmod 6 and installed the rom on a totally blank phone.

i have found that there are root issues, and that once installed the rom that root checker basic says not proper root, also es file explorer can't change permissions on files (yes the setting are right for es to be able to, this is not my first rodeo with android, i have 3 tablets and 6 different phones, many of which i play with different roms, this is just my preferred phone, and i use es on all of my droids)

other then the root issues i've encountered and the Obtaining IP loop i love this rom, i'm going to try an adb fix for the root issue, then with that done perhaps i'll be able to do the quick fix for the IP loop, with any luck i'll get it all working and can go on loving this phone for another few years.

also, thanks out of ideas for this awesome rom, i've used more then one flavor on this phone, and so far (other then the above listed issues) i love this one, it's sleek and streamlined, and did away with all the bloat-ware that att put on the phone, all it needs now is built in app2sd and it would be perfect. (i'm thinking that the root issue and the IP loop are just a bug on my phone, and if not i'm sure we'll be back and forth to get that lined out as well)

EDIT:

ADB root method listed here http://androidforums.com/avail-all-things-root/482464-how-root-unroot-full-guide-update-3-5-a.html doesn't work every command gives permission denied, which would be a direct result of not having root access to start with, however i don't understand as adb should give "forced" root access.

am going to try another method to get root access, as the adb method isn't working, http://androidforums.com/avail-all-...ail-root-method-update-zip-no-adb-needed.html maybe this will work faster and better.

i just wish i could figure out why this pre-rooted rom wasn't rooted when i installed it on my phone.

It's rooted so thats weird. the binary is out of date as I havent updated in a bit, so try updating from Superuser.

Also, that update.zip might be older, not too sure and too busy to checxk right now, but THIS THREAD

http://androidforums.com/avail-all-things-root/678701-root-update-zip-root.html is still open so it's probably more up to date. Try that.

If not, your problem is probably the CWM6. you got it from that other site? I've seen more than a few reports of problems arising from that in this forum(Lost recovery mode, etc.)

If the update.zip doesn't fix your issues, you might want to try touchnav.

I'm using an old cwm5 that unfortunately isn't linked on here anymore and have no problems.

let me know if either of those help. either way probably going to push out an update by next weekend.

That shouldn't be happening with CWM 6... And technically shouldn't be possible without specifically declaring it.

Yeah i don't know why that would be happening in particular, could just be an out of date binary, or wasn't fully wiped or something. I've flashed this plenty of times on both my merits(and on top of anthony's avail ROM, back to merit) and it roots fine.

And I got the old binary and the previous ES version and they work. So i don't know off the top of my head what it could be.

Either way it's a good push to get back on tinkering with this after I finish these apps and a couple things I'm doing.

BTW, was wondering how you and james got euro versions working(without having to use the VIVO ROM). this ROM works over there, just not the MMS.

Trying to figure out if I should switch out the apns-conf xml or what. Hard to test compatibility with Euro carriers from America, haha.

I was talking about the CWM, but the root is an issue too.

As for the Euro ROM, I used a VIP base, and James used my base if I remember right.

I've been using this ROM for a few months and as of a recent wifi network change at my school I've discovered an issue: I can't connect to an 802.1x PEAP+MSCHAPv2 wifi network.

I've tried everything within my knowledge to try and have had no success in connecting to my school's secured wifi. Flashing back to the stock Avail ROM and I connect with no difficulties.

For now I'm going to have to go back to the stock ROM as a result, which totally sucks...this Scamwich is delicious.
