Im currently running CM 7.0.3.1 and trying to get to a sense rom to fix the GPS and every rom I d/l takes me to the white screen. Ive tried Fresh 4.0 beta, Fresh 3.5.0.1 and Myn Warm z. Ive used rom manager for both of the fresh roms and all 3 have from install from SD card? Any Ideas as to why I keep getting stuck at the white screen. Also I did full wipe everytime.

I'm not an expert at all, but everything I've read people say that using Rom manager to install roms almost always results in errors.
 
Ive used rom manager multiple times for CM roms with and without probles but I'm also having troble with the install from SD card using clockwork recovery.
 
It can take some time when loading up a ROM for the first time. Sometimes like 10 minutes or so. When I flashed warm 2.2 I got the white screen...then looked like it was loading up, then right back to the white screen....etc for about 5-6 cycles. Then it loaded and worked fine ever since. And every reboot since the first one has been much quicker.
How long are you waiting at the white screen before trying again?

If the problem is more than just waiting longer, there are some really good EVO troubleshooters on here that can help you with more of the technical stuff.
 
RunVert thanks for the advice I waited it out and sure enough its now sitting in the boot screen. hopefully its not stuck at that. 5 mins at the boot screen and waiting.
 
I would also make sure that you are wiping everything before flashing the Sense rom. You are going from AOSP to Sense and if there is any info left from CM it may mess with it. Also, if it doesn't load after about 10 minutes, try a battery pull and restart the phone. I have issues once in a while flashing Sense roms and getting stuck on the splash screen. Battery pull seems to fix it.

+1 to bringing up the sense to aosp thing... thatll eff up the whole process every time regardless of the flash method if you dont wipe the right caches... should only need to wipe cache and dalvik cache, but i always run caulkins format all when going from aosp (which i rarely do... i only use sense when i want to change my prl) to sense... oh and keep asking ?'s man, you have enlisted the help of some great folks already, and itll shock you how able and ready this forum is to assist ya!!
 
oh and xtreme, have you seen the new tiamat kernels? hes on 4.??? now... i just installed it myself. link to the tiamat site is in my sig :)
 
I finally got everything straightned out. Ended up having to use mikfroyo 4.4 to do the GPS fix. Now im back on CM7.0.3.1 and so far the gps is working like a champ. thanks for the help and advice
 
yes im a space case today (today? shoot, ALWAYS!!!!) ugh, i need to start getting more than 3 hrs sleep at night....
 
sorry, i was just looking thru the thread, saw the old hernel on your device info, and totally forgot about the other convo lol just tryin to spread the tiamat love around y'all :D
