Help bad phone? or normal?

I just got this phone last night. There were issues with the 1st sim card installed, so verizon rep put another in. Seemed to work.

In 3 hours of having it last night, I had 5 dropped calls bc of signal lost. I wouldn't imagine this being normal, right?

Did i get a lemon? Coming from an incredible 1, i'm not used it being this bad.

There was another member who was having such difficulties, and Verizon eventually replaced it. Were all your calls in the same location, or varying locations? I really don't think this phone's reception is any worse than the Incredible.

Did you have it in 4g/3g mode? Is there any 4G in your area? I'm wondering if it was a handoff problem as the phone tried to switch between the two. Either way, try another phone, defects aren't that rare. I know I went through 6 original Droids for 6 different reasons (everything from proximity sensors to bad speakers to broken power buttons).

I have it on 3g. Do I have to change the settings? I've never been able to access the internet. I was considering the htc rezound, but having the incredible, its just bigger and i dont need beats.

i have verizon, no samsung galaxy 3

I went to a store during lunch, was told the network has been down and being worked on. Dont know if this is true or bs. I live in morris county, nj. Just weird I can't call/text even though with old phone I could even if no mobile access.

If your area has no or very weak, spotty 4G coverage, you'd better set your network mode to CDMA only in mobile network setting. This will help avoid such call issues due to 3G/4G hand-off and also save battery a lot. Also setting the sytem select to "home only" from default automatic mode seems to make radios more stable and switch on/off quicker from my experience.

That's a bad phone. Verizon had me between their store & phone support for almost a week before they would give me a new phone. I haven't had a problem since.
