Root Bad sectors on /system

Hey, I was flashing a new ROM the other day and I read the logs afterwards. It said there were 5 bad sectors on the system partition. I've been into clockworkmod and formatted but it's not capable of removing them. anyone know something that could? Thanks.

might be corrupt nand
if you are s-off try fastboot erase system

Yep, I've been flashing ROMs for about a year now and I've only started to have problems with the phone recently> It overheats occasionally even when not under stress (and it's not running at overclocked speeds).
I've not s-offed yet, I tried yesterday, but the ROM I'm using at the moment uses data-->EXT and Revolutioonary and Alpharev both didn't work.

Is it a PVT1 device? Check hboot. Over heating can cause data loss and corrupt NAND permanently.

Most likely its still under warranty? 2 years...

Yep, it's PVT1. HBOOT 0.93.001.
I managed to s-off earlier, resorted to linux and it went perfectly but fastboot erase system didn't remove the corrupt sectors. It is within the 2 year warranty, bought in October 2010 I think but obviously I'll have to replace HBOOT and do an RUU before sending it back if it comes to that.

yes i deffo would if you were getting rebooted under loads then the main board needs to be replaced
you will need to flash the downgrader hboot from alpharev.nl then flash the an RUU that is for your carrier/device
once done create a warranty case for overheat shutdown.

theres no way to fix badsectors on nand
