I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly the problem is... is the phone not charging? Or is it acting strange while charging? Is all you have is the one charger? Do you have a car charger you can try?
If all else fails, stop by your local Verizon Wireless store with your phone, and ask to use one of their batteries in your device to see if it comes on with it in there. If it does, then it may be that you need to replace the battery. If it's a charging issue, you may need to return your DX in on warranty.
I had a similar issue when I bricked my device back in December while trying to flash 'Tranquility'. I found myself in a bootloop so I started searching the forums on how to SBF back to stock. All the instructions I found said not to attempt the SBF process without at least an 80% charge on the battery, so I plugged my phone in and let it charge for a few hours. But when I pulled the device off of the charger, the phone shut off.
So I tried plugging it in with several other chargers I had. None of them seemed to want to charge the phone. It would show the battery icon with no charge while plugged in, and as soon as I'd unplug it, my DX would turn off. This was the case with both my stock battery and my extended battery. So I took my device into my local Verizon wireless store and asked to put the battery from their DX into mine. When I did so, the battery icon popped up showing a full charge.
So that told me that for some reason when I bricked the device, it no longer charged the battery. I don't know why? So what I ended up having to do was buy a universal external battery charger down at RadioShack. I put the battery in it overnight, and popped it into my DX the next morning. Finally I had a charge on it and was able to SBF back to stock. All in all my DX was out of commission for 3 days, and I was freaking out BAD!!! I thought I was going to have to buy a brand new DX because I assumed I'd somehow broken the ability to charge the battery in the phone. And since I'd done that while rooted and flashing a ROM, I knew a warranty replacement wasn't an option for me.
So when I was able to externally charge the battery and get it to SBF back to stock... boy oh boy was that ever a happy day for me!
