Help battery life

Mr. Ed, would you mind posting a pointer to how one can make a screenshot on Android? I Googled it, but it seems that in order to take a screenshot one needs a computer, an Android SDK installed, a USB connection, etc...? WTF?

Press the home screen and power button at the same time ;)

The pic will be saved in your gallery under screen capture

Upload the pic to photobucket and post the link

I will not be online much to help anymore. it isn't worth it and I have too much real world to deal with

I will pop back in every once in a while

I never knew that. You gotta do it REAL quick or you'll end up with the task manager superimposed over everything.

Here are shots from today after almost 12 hours of use since disconnecting from the power supply when I woke up. I actually used the phone a bit today during a 4-hour bus ride. The phone is completely stock. I usually have WiFi turned on but set to sleep when the screen is off. Background data and Auto-Sync are turned on for Gmail but I leave Facebook unchecked. My screen brightness is set at the half-way point. I leave GPS and Bluetooth off because I don't use them. When I left the house I turned WiFi off. No sense in it looking for something that won't be there. I typically have an 80% charge left at the end of a typical 16-hour day. Today will be a little worse because I browsed the web for a bit on the bus and did a substantial amount of texting. It ain't rocket science and you don't need to be rooted and ROMed, running 3 battery/power apps. I don't use Juice Defender or any of the other, similar products out there.

My girlfriend got a little toasted a few nights ago and tied me up on the phone for 2.5 hours. I noticed it chewed up about 20% of my power. That's not unreasonable.

I don't treat the phone like an entertainment center. If I want to listen to music all day, watch Justin Bieber videos on YouTube, or movies... which I don't stream... I transfer them onto the device... there's a 64G iTouch in my other pocket for that. I've always had a "never mix business with pleasure" mentality about that.

ya mine was MESSED today.. its been good up until today and i had to charge it twice with moderate use! i went to the gym around 5 tonight (its now 830) and i got the battery up to 70%. and I only touched the phone a few times at the gym and by 8 pm it was at 7% getting into the shower.. wtf? by the time my 10 min shower was done it was at 2%... I have NEVER seen it go down so fast.

I didnt change anything really since yesterday to affect it. even the car charger today was not really holding a charge

Wow, so Midiman I see that you were able to have the phone last for two days. By the looks of it you were able to do so by only have the screen on at 3 different times.

So whats the difference between screen on and awake? Shouldn't screen on and awake work simultaneously? I never questioned this before until now when I noticed this. Or does awake mean your phone is syncing with accounts from FB, Twitter, emails, etc... If someone can clear this for me then I'd probably understand more battery usage.

wow.. again last night. I had my phone on the USB charger on my laptop for about 3-4 hours then went to bed, woke up 8 hours later and it was off. battery dead.

its never been like this... why all of a sudden terrible battery performance??
