Battery Life

also depends how bright you had your screen that counts as well i.try setting it as low as i can see the battery on this phone is good other people have complained about duds so that may be the culprit

OK, yeah that makes more sense! Ha ha. I'm so obsessed with my battery life. I'm not sure if I should exchange it or not. I have read about some of the more expensive 4g phones that have low battery life while using 4g to browse the web. I admit that is when I notice the battery drain the fastest. I can't tell how well my battery is holding up otherwise since I mostly use it for the web and not much else. I sometimes forget I can make calls with it. lol

a good way to see is after u charge it if your sync options are off so it doesnt use data is to just charge it to 100 and just leave it alone for an hour or so without doing anything screen off no sync nothing if your battery is good u should still be at 100 other phones that i have seen lose something even on standby but this one loses little to none from my experience

Thanks for the tip. It seemed to hold 100 for about an hour of no use this morning after charging all night. I will see how it does again after I charge it back up.

Today I got 9hrs and 50min on battery before getting to 19%. And this is from using a fair amount of 4g web surfing.

How much on screen time? My first charge I showed about that much standby and 2 hours on screen but now I get maybe 1 hour onscreen and 8-9 hours standby time and most of the time data is off.

Oh I don't remember now. Though I was using it a lot for internet browsing. If I would have to guess I suppose a two to three hours of total screen time. Probably less than I'm guessing.

I'm starting to charge mine overnight and ignore the fully charged message. I know that with extended batteries you are supposed to ignore the finished charging message and let it charge about six hours longer. Probably doesn't matter with the stock battery but I'm going to treat it like an extended battery for a few days to see what happens.

How much battery do you guys loose over night with wifi and data off? I'm usually around 7 to 10% in 6-8 hours. If I loose more than that then I know some program was running in the background and its time to restart the phone. The next night the phone is back to that 7-10% over night.

The last two nights I've gone to bed with data connectivity disabled, and 7 hours later had lost 25% the first night and 20% the next.

Now, my room is notorious for having no signal and sure enough the stats said 97% no signal and 3% phone idle.

If data connectivity is disabled shouldn't not having a signal not matter?

All I know is losing 20-25% overnight while I sleep is ridiculous.

Bettery Battery life the more days you used it? Interesting!

My room has no signal as well , Maybe your phone was still searching for a signal...

Well maybe you should try to connect then disable , I know some times I click disable Data connectivity and then it stays there trying but it wont until I click it again/reboot sometimes

Not bad though , LG Connect lost alot during the night , about 70%! Without 4G and nothing on , But are you on Wifi , GPS , Bluetooth? Any games in background? Any apps in background , Auto Sync on?

Reply :confused::confused::confused:

Having no signal would still matter because the data is disabled but there's still the calling side so you would need to enable airplane mode which is no calling or data.

I think that is normal maybe try airplane mode. There will be an extended battery available very soon that is advertised as doubling cell phone life for these IMO it can't come fast enough.

I might lose about 2 to 3% overnight while I'm not using it. I wonder if some of you got bum batteries.

Well I got a new battery from a different store as a warranty replacement and it's working better. Before I got maybe 8hrs now I get about 12hrs total also the standby doesn't drain the battery like it did previously. If your phone batter is lasting say 6-8 hours with 1-2 hours worth of screen time...take it back as that is not right.

So with your 12 hours how much screen time? Right now I'm 40% at 9hours 23minutes with 1 hour 7 min screen time.

Which is very funny because a few days ago I was able to get nearly 23hours but 8-9 of those hours I was asleep and I don't know how much screen time I got. I did have wifi on most of the time I was home though too.

So, I've had my Motion for about a month now. It came with firmware f on it. I haven't rooted, and I use Juice Defender (just the basic free version).

This is fairly typical. Some days are higher use and I only get 9 or 10 hours. Still respectable considering my Optimus M+ would barely get 5 before being down to 10% or so.

JuiceDefender isnt really necessary anymore, in fact from most of the posts I've seen lately on ICS & later it does more harm than good with the battery life.

Awful!
Absolutely terrible.
You shouldn't need to use a battery saver to get your phone to stay charged for more than 5 hours.
And whoever said 9 hours while running music, and DL apps, and GPS, AND YOUTUBE.................you are full of it.

I like the phone but it really has the worst battery ever.

I remember when I berly got the phone , it use to be 9 hours before I saw the 15% alert message . what I noticed is that most of the time the 4g would be up/downloading while I wasent using anything . I would clear all my activity and I would still notice it going at it . I have droid wall so I was like no way . im currently testing out mini f and installing all my apps one by one each day to see what app is eating my 4g in the background . I don't really have apps that require sync so I was mad . it shouldn't be using my 4g unless its an update from metro or something . I'm guessing if its using 4g running in the background it should be the reason for my batt going down . I think we should all consider looking into app permissions , running process and the keyboard we have . I don't think there's such a thing as faulty batterys . maybe one or 5 but 30 ? Come on that sounds too crazy , who the hell sells faulty batterys . I think we all just have to do a little research on Google about battery drain and android . we all have different set ups . way different launchers different tweaks different brightness different call and text usage different Bluetooth and GPS usages . some have hepatic feedback and led light on . read the battery saving article on the phone . its so many things that could be draining that sucker . unless you have 3 lg motions and do exactly the same thing on all 3 with exactly the same apps and settings and can get a different batt life . I don't believe it has anything to do with a bad battery .
