Been sitting infront of the verizon store since 7:00

I picked up today at 8am when the store near me opened. There were already 8 people there and a lot more came in behind me too. There didn't seem to be any worries about running out so I am guessing that the 10 per store rumor was wrong. They did have a lot of balloons and special shirts on though.

Was everyone there getting the Incredible like you?
 
When I went to get the Droid on launch day, I went at 5am, thought it would be packed. By the time they opened at 8 or whatever, there were 3 of us.

Was a bit of a let down, heh.
 
So I bought the droid 3 weeks ago with no issue. Now they are giving me crap because I am not named on the account so we had to fax an auth forum to my purchasing agent to sign and return. So I am sitting waiting for that.

The one dude is getting a gmail account setup. The other guy just left with no smart phone and an older lady is buying some basic phone.
 
So he explained they had a corp conference call when everone disappeared after hanging the ballons. That call is when they said any droid/phone exchanges for the incredible would require them shipping you the incredible. They say they can not bend on that rule.
 
Opened early at 8AM and I was the only one there. They said they had 36 units for sale. There were 2 out on display and more sales reps than I have ever seen in that store.

There was a bit of fun transferring my numbers from an ancient phone. They needed to use the hardwired gadget to do it and this setup seemingly REQUIRED the Incredible to have a memory card in order to work. They ended up temporarily putting a 2 gig card in my Incredible to do the transfer and then removing it after the numbers were ported. All is well.

By the time I left at 8:45 there were 2 others looking at the Incredible.

Glad I waited to actually hold it first before buying because I actually got it a few hours sooner than if I had preordered on line.

At least you have another line to use. Thankfully, I am not returning a Moto Droid for mine...

Glad to hear you got your phone. The Woodbridge store always has great customer service. I woulda been out there at 8am with ya if I didn't preorder. Enjoy the INC
 
Dont feel left out, I was at the store at 7am this morning. First one there, my buddy an assist. manager brought me out a printed receipt indicating i had one reserved. they let me in at 8 and he told me they had 10 for preorders that were sold and 7 left for walkins after i had purchased mine woot woot..

Oh incase anyone was wondering about cases, I picked up a black silicone case and its perfect. Especially compared to my old blackberry 8330 silicone case. Very sturdy, high gloss so no sticking in pocket and very thin.. I love it, i might not need a third party case after all.. However the screen protector is to be desired but I guess its expected. It only covers the screen with approx 1mm of overhang on the edges. Its not terrible but ide like a anti smudge protector in the long run
 
Awesome. So the fax number they gave me was incorrect. Now I have the correct fax number and my purchase agent just went into a meeting. Lucky they have only sold one incredible so far.
 
Well, off to try my luck at my closest VZW store. Hopefully good things will be happening shortly... :D
