Root Best aosp Rom ?

No, he didn't UPDATE the camera driver. I.e its the normal one

Have you noticed a big difference with these leaked drivers?

Tempted to flash as I'm a flashaholic who doesn't have anything to flash ;)

Oh and how do I get back to the original drivers I'm using in case it goes Pete Tong on me, reflash Redux?

I noticed further battery improvement. For most the RIL doesn't work.

If you flash and lose signal, Hadron has a different RIL to flash over, which will leave the drivers.

Yes you could just reflash or restore the Rom

Flashed and all seems to work fine :)

Well it did till a reboot, now got no phone network connection.
Bugger it! :(

EDIT:
No, it's come back after another reboot lol

keep an eye on it. If it keeps doing this, flash the RIL in hadron's sig over the top.

I'm all for trying something if it is working for the majority of people who use it. However, this leak RIL seems to be causing more issues than not. I'll hold off. Regardless, the radio flash I did works noticeably better than the stock version that came on the phone.

where do you see more issues?
any ril has the potential to cause issues as it can be carrier and radio specific.
it works perfectly for me and does for quite alot of people. i see more positives from it than negatives

do i detect sarcasm?

No not at all.

It works for me and I saw a handful of others in the GV thread who had no issues, but everyone I know here who has tested it (and seen many others in GV thread too) it causes an issue where data drops constantly.

I know its not user error or anything like that

I'm currently having a problem with data dropping with gv, would flashing the radio cure this? What is the latest radio?

32.56 Not tried it myself. Im on 32.54

Might help. Did you flash the RIL though, if you did just reflash the rom.

I had problems with that new leaked ril and drivers. but sorted after flashing the ril zip from hadron's sig. using latest radio though.

No I am still running stock radio and the installed ril, I might just wait till weekend as I'm sure there will be 2.3 :-)

amazing battery life with redux

Does redux come with the settings for Vodafone? Ie for mms and mobile web? Are these settings what you refer to as apn settings?

They are APN settings. All roms should detect the sim card, but you have to double check them.

go into Settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks> Access point names.

On o2 I have 2. 1 that is selectable and 1 for MMS that is not selectable.

hmm, works for me fine too im using 32.54 aswell
people are probably using it with a radio too old imo

32.56 here and I had intermittent problems with the leaked RIL.
No problems at all with the leaked drivers and the RIL from Hadron's sig though.

Many people also tried with the latest 32.56 though too. I'm not sure but there must be a reason for it. It could be a config somewhere, or a setting. It could even be similar thing to "well I can overclock to 1190 with no problems" - "I cant"...

I had to ask Hadron to confirm what his RIL was. Hadron has the latest Nexus 1 RIL, where as I have the latest Desire RIL

yeah but chip variables is a little different to radio stack
the only thing i can think is its something to do with carriers or a incompatibility with stack and ril

Yeah I know its different, but just wondering if little variations in the manufacturing process could cause it. I couldn't rule it out. But it could be many things.

One thing we have in common is o2 UK. (I think you said youre on o2 anyway)

I'm also using the 32.54 radio (as I think my sig says), but on Orange.

I was thinking that it would be a pain if the problem is network-specific, but actually when I'm roaming I'll have mobile data off so I guess I wouldn't notice ;)

I'm running 32.44.00.32H_5.09.05.30_2. I'm on 3UK and this was recommended to me from another forum as I was having issues with O2 coverage at the time. Not had any problems, everything seems to work - not had any issues with signal dropping out. My battery life is superb on Redux. Is there any point in upgrading to a newer version if I'm not having any issues?
