Best Beer in the U.S

Definitely Shiner Bock for me. It's really good if you pop a couple green olives in it, the saltiness goes really well with it. If it sounds weird well, don't knock it til you try it. :)

Your going to need a dedicated beer fridge

That would be cool, but my house is too small :( The wife and I are trying to find a house in the area. There is one that we saw on realter.com that described the garage with an "exempt" refrigerator in it! Man cave for sure. Its right down the road from us. But I don't think I wanna spend $104,000 on a house. Even if its got a dedicated man fridge in the garage!

I'll just have to make sure to load up the one in the kitchen every time I finish a 12er.

Steel Reserve 211, or the most common name, 211.

I dont know if it can be found outside of uh....urban, inner city areas...lol

I could always count on a drunk homless man to hook me up with these when I was a senior in high school. I wonder what happened to Good ol' Achmed. He only had one ear.

Steel Reserve... yikes.

Where do you live that you can find a house for $104k? Around my area, you can't even get a small condo for that little. Sucks, but at least living in an apartment saves me maintenence costs.

Seriously. Houses in my area are around 800,000 - 1,000,000. I live in an apartment of course. :)

2.99 a six pack ... this is the poor man's Heineken :D

I do love me some Heineken. I'll have to see if I can find it if its that cheap. I'm simple when it comes to buying beer for the house. I usually go with Heineken, Dos Equis (Amber or Lager), and Killian's. When I go out to a bar that has a big selection I'll branch out that way if I don't like it I only have to drink one.

I guess it depends what you are looking for. In your area there are 28 pages of listings for under $110K

Heres one for $105K

I live in Illinois, but...

The under-whelming but nice-enough 4 bedroom home I lived in before I moved here was in Hawaii where I was born, was $650,000. For that kind of money here I could buy 20 acres on a lake front with my own fishing ponds with a huge mansion, and stilll have money left for an equally pretentious car.

Just goes to show how expwnsive some places are. Location location location!

Lol, seriously. I live in one of the most expensive places to live in the country (property tax wise). I'd be surprised if houses in my area go for any less than 750K.

Interesting ... A quick search for your neighborhood on Zillow.com puts the average price of homes in your area between $350k and $450k

I was referring to my region which would be Nassau County, NY. Either way though, $350-$450K is tons more than just 100K. On my side of town, the houses are generally larger (have more land as well) and cost more than $450K. That's for certain.

Is this not your area?

In any case, it never ceases to amaze me how newlyweds want to jump unto the 3,000 sq ft 5 bedroom house on an acre of land with no equity or savings, rather than going for the "starter home".

Ok so moving on from houses to beer...

I absolutely hate ANY beer in a can, it totally kills the taste of beer IMO. And since the OP stated any beer 'available' in the US, I take it that does not limit ths discussion to American beer. So I will list my favorites that I can find here in the States.

1. New Castle
2. Moose Head
3. Killians
4. Dos Equis
5. Corona

And if I'm in an establishment that ONLY sells American beer, then I go for either Bud Light Lime, or Miller Chill. And when I'm back home in Canada, I'll grab a cold Kokanee.

I'm not much of a can fan either but I do not mind the glass bottles though. I like my draft preferably.

Absolutely, while draft is always the prefered choice, glass bottles are the only way to distribute beer. Glass doesn't color the taste what-so-ever. Who ever started putting beer in a can should be shot.

So are we talking American PRODUCED beer, or just anything available in the US? Just curious, because not all beers people have listed were US produced.

Back in the day (high school) we would collect everyone's money and get a Full Keg of Milwaukees Best!! 96.50!! Ice and some plastic cups and hellified parties!! My parents let me throw some straight BASHES in the basement!!

You'd get laughed at in the UK drinking cans so chuffin small.

have you tried this yet...

Thats getting somewhere close to decent beer...

The one thing thats pissing me off is lager appearing in this thread, that chemically conditioned crap is not beer. Real beer has hops and yeast in it and isn't fricking fizzy. Drinks like that are for 18-21 year olds and not what real men drink.

Oh and just to point out a fact Coors, Budweiser and their ilk taste like ferret piss.
