Best Buy availability

The Best Buy store saw the upgrade price was $199.99 on Amazon. They did price match that amount for me.

I've already gone back for 4 price matches. $249 (Radio Shack), $199 (Wirefly), $149 (Amazon Wireless), & $99 (Amazon Wireless).

I'm figuring that it was no questions asked for them, just because it's the holidays. All of the gift card money I got back is going to be put towards the Samsung Note GT-N5100 (For those that don't know, that's the leaked model number for the 7 inch...or whatever size it ends up being...Note Tablet that's already been tested for WiFi Certification and benchmarks and will hopefully be released early after the New Year).

This has been a very Happy Holidays for me : )

Looks like I need to go back to Best Buy. They wouldn't price match Amazon at my best buy so the best they did was $279.99 radio shack price.

Edit: I'm on Verizon and seems the cheapest price I can find on it is $279.99 for upgrades. Amazon sells it for $200 for new customers but not upgrades.

They price matched me, even though the deals were for new accounts (and I upgraded). Unfortunately, that's the part of it that's YMMV. There are some Best Buy locations that are really strict, while others are amazingly accommodating. I'd try another location, if there's one close by. I'm just fortunate enough to have multiple Best Buy's to go to, but the one closest to my house is by far the most accomodating.

Best price I've seen for Verizon (upgrade) is on Let's Talk for $199
Cell Phone Specials

Ok so tomorrow I have to call both local best buy mobile managers and I'm sure one of them will give me the price difference. Both mobile managers know who I am so hopefully this works out. I will report back tomorrow.

It will work out. One manager told me no more matches since ive already used one. Then my bro spoke to a diff manager he showed her the add she gave him the difference back. So I got the N2 for 199.99

chasers, you're on Verizon? For some reason, I thought you were on Sprint.

I am on Sprint. How's the N2 in your area on Sprint?

You are? They didn't give you the $99 price match? Or are you out of your 30 day window?

I love the phone...but, let's just say that I really hope Sprint is able to speed up the Network Vision upgrades, especially with the 100% Clearwire purchase. I was anticipating the N2 radios not being quite as strong as what I experienced with the MoPho, but my 3G speeds have been dial-up speed and the 4G by my work is great, if the connection would just connect right away.

I still haven't tried the PRL trick I read about on XDA, but at some point I'll likely go that route, just to see if the phone will connect quicker when coming from an elevator in my work building that doesn't have service.

I was upgrading so the 99.99 didnt apply for me unfortunately. But I am happy w the deal I got. I agree Sprint upgrades should greatly improve their services now and in the future. The 4G is light years away from wimax

I upgraded also...still got the price match. In case you wanted to try to see if they'll allow another.

It's weird because my experience with LTE vs. Wimax is pretty much the same. The only difference is not having to turn it on/off, like wifi. That said, I'm anticipating LTE being a lot more reliable and consistent, once Network Vision has been completed.

Yeah to Best Buy price matching. I tried a couple weeks ago at one store and they said they would not match Amazon. Then with Amazon pricing down again, I thought I try a different store with a different approach. I'm not sure if it was the store or my approach, but it worked. I'm so happy because I was dreading paying $299 or $249 for it.

Anyway, I have a feeling that it's more of the store and the timing. As mentioned by others, I think it's just whatever the store management feels like doing that day.

My approach, I was patient (had to wait while he upgraded another person in front) and waited a bit before asking about price matching. When he was ready I told him I wanted to buy the Note 2. He said have a seat, asked if I was upgrading or adding a line (both options are at same price) then started to pull up my account. After he pulled it up and confirmed, I told him that I really want to purchase through them instead of Amazon or other places and hope that he could match their price. He said no problem, asked what I saw, I said $99 from Amazon (I know, I didn't say anything about it being new customer price, but I was ready to accept matching of $199 for upgrade/add a line.) He said no problem, he just needs to see it and print it for transaction record. We both tried to bring it up on our phones (Android phones, haha) and Amazon won't allow mobile pricing of mobile phones. I patiently waited as he pulled Amazon up on his PC. When he said, "Okay, I see the $99. All good." I was jumping for joy (inside).

Anyway, for those that are still waiting, do it now. The timing is right. I was ready to drive to other Best Buy locations until one agrees to price match. Good luck to you.

Glad they did it for you. Yeah, it's unfortunate that it's YMMV. Some stores are so strict, while others are way more leniant.

BTW, for those in CA that get charged tax off full retail (instead of discounted/price matched price), I highly suggest doing price match after the fact. Sometimes, there is a big benefit to that.

So a little update. I just got back from Best Buy and they wouldn't price match Amazon due to Amazon being out of stock but I showed them the LetsTalk price and they had no problem price matching that one. I got price matched to the 199.99 price.

Glad you were still able to get some sort of price match nontheless.

Thanks to you. I would have never known about LetsTalk if it weren't for you mentioning it.

Getting the phone for $199.99 is good with me. Take THAT people who bought the DNA because it was cheaper lol.

Hey, always willing to help out my fellow Phandroid Forum bros. and sis. Although, I do want to credit Slickdeals for being the #1 go to place to find out all the deals. So many of my purchases have come from that place, including the ability to price match so many products that I've purchased in the past.

I really hope Best Buy continues with their same practices for their Mobile sales. I think that's the only thing that's keeping them afloat (and a big reason they closed a bunch of locations, in favor of opening up smaller best buy mobile stores).

LOL...love the extra dig on those that opted for the DNA, just because of price.
