Yeah, I ordered it there. It seems they are mis-staffed, not enough people in appliances and mobile, and people in other depts just standing around. It's frustrating when there is only 1 person there and 4 people waiting.

I had to go in this AM and ask why I didn't get an appointment. They said sorry and seemed disorganized. This was after I called and left a message yesterday and didn't get a call back. They put me down for a slot though.

I just talked to the Mobile department manager at the Pflugerville Best Buy store. I am on the second shipment so I was inquiring if they had extras and were going to be calling any of the second shipment preorders. She told me they got in a few extra phones but could not give them out until after Friday (had to make sure all the first shipment preorders got working phones). She said some people on the second shipment list would probably get a call for pickup over the weekend. I asked if the second shipment was still due in on the 9th and she said yes but they may get a drop shipment before then but they didn't know yet.

She said she wouldn't have any phones for walk-in customers.
 
I was this close to going over to BB at the Rim in San Antonio to confirm my appointment when I got a call (that I didn't answer) then a call from my brother saying that BB called and he moved his appointment up from 1:00 to 9:30 and that I should call them to see if I could get an earlier one. So I called them right back and got moved up from 12:30 to 8:00!!! So stoked!
 
north star am pre-orderers.. let us know what the situation is like at the store.. how many phones they got in etc..
 
Nah, it pretty much stops at 1604. But I'll probably go to my parent's house tomorrow to check it out. Who knows, maybe I won't be able to wait and go tonight! :p

EDIT: I actually live right off of 10 by Fair Oaks and nothing.....

It worked outside the store w/ a "fair" signal. Doesn't work at the house, although it's in the "blue area" (1604/Braun area). At work, it is sporatic. Works sometimes, not others. Also "deep in the blue area". Not very impressed w/ 4G right now. I will say that Pandora didn't even hiccup on the 30 minute ride from home to work and it sounded AWESOME. Couldn't tell it was streaming...even on 3G.

I do see that a new tower is being put up at 1604 and Bandera...maybe that will help me at the house!
 
So I was on the second shipment and got a call this morning saying they had extra and to come pick up your phone!

Just got it, pretty excited!
 
Hope everyone who wasn't able to secure an Evo yesterday will get one real soon!

I was able to get mine yesterday, still fiddling with the phone, uploading apps, and having just the blast discovering new things it can do. At this rate, I won't be surprised if it can fly. :D
 
Whee, lucked out... got a call Sunday saying they'd had some people cancel/backout of their pre-orders and did I want to come get myne. :-)

Even got the 'free' blue tooth with it. Still getting used to it, but me likey.

Now just need someone to release a ruggedized case for it and a way to mount it to the M/C.
