Best DUAL SIM android phone?

I think Lenovo A60 might just do the job for you.

Hi Genna,

I purchased it two months ago, the software version is 0.46.2, I did not find any dust behind the screen.
It works great, no trouble at all.
 
Yesterday, I asked the following questions at etotalk.com, concerning the XT532:

- when will you start to deliver this phone?
- what menu languages will be available?
- does this phone come with a good working android market for free and payable apps?

Their answer is:
- This phone is in pre-sale. Thanks

Still have to wait I guess...

to concerned, Guys from ukraine and russia have already received root rights for GSmart 1345.

By the way, have anybody paid attention on XT532's screen resolution there. I guess, qvga 320X240 is not enough for 3,5" display, or there is the mistake in specs? I think, it must be second, hvga is more appropriate

Do you know if it is possible to make a ROM copy of the ROM that is present on a GSmart phone? How do I get those root rights for the G1345?

That looks similar to the V350, only the Camera and LED flash is different.

Hi Times8,

Let me make clear some points.

Do you need to make a backup of your contacts, apps, so on. or you need to make ROM cope entirely? if the last, I know that is the problem!

also, do you need to get root rights for 1345 or even so for 1310? Because you have said before that your phone was 1310.

I need or want to make a ROM copy of what's present on the phone, not contacts etc.
Yes my phone is a G1310, but I think if it works for the 1345 it also works for the 1310, or am I wrong?

Hi Times8,

I have learned our forums, so GSmart 1310 may be rooted with SuperOneClick v1.6.5, 1.7 and z4root 1.3.1 as well. others search internet to find these apps.

Instruction(have been taken from there):
1. You have to install all drivers of the device on your PC and check correct installation in your devices manager(devmgmt.msc), if some drivers are not installed then they must be reinstalled. drivers are located on your device or you can download them fromhere
2. Next, you have to download SuperOneClick v1.7 and un-zip archive.
3. Then, turn on USB Debugging mode in your device settings, leave the setting and connect to the PC in charging mode.
4. Finally, you have to push the button "root" in run SuperOneClick.exe.
if all right, your device will be rooted and you will see a message about it, apps may propose to verify rooting and it's all.
this work was done with ROM 0.36.

remember! I cannot give you any guarantee and all work you make will be under your responsibility.

My HDC A9100 finally arrived, and after a few days living with it this is what I think:

I use the phone with 2x GSM sim cards, 1 from my work, one private. The work one is in Sim 1 and is set to be the default for 3g data. Both sims are active at the same time, the only restriction is that if you are on a call on one sim, the other diverts directly to voicemail, so you can't switch between calls. The dual sim bit works just as I was expecting & I'm quite happy with it. I'm not so happy with the 3G connection though, I get a much better signal on my iphone & HTC Desire Z, but I guess that's not unexpected.

The phone itself is nicely made & feels exactly the same as the Samsung original - the only visible difference is the logo's. The screen is good, multi-touch works well and its a nice size. The main camera is surprisingly good, nice clear pictures in all light levels, and the flash is okay for a single LED. The front camera is a let down, not that you get to use it as it doesn't support Skype video calling (yet. Apparently.)

Once I'd rooted it & cleared off the crap it runs pretty smoothly - comparable to my Desire Z if you don't push it too hard. If you're listening to music, browsing the web and taking a call expect it to lag pretty badly though. (Rooted easily with SuperOneClick).

The RAM is okay, with 443Mb available, but internal storage is crap, with just 220Mb available - and most of that is taken up with the preinstalled apps, most of which you need. I'm installing all my apps to SD, but I still seem to run out of storage occasionally.

The CPU only shows as a single core in Z-Device Test, which would be about right with its performance, although its claimed to be a dual core. I don't believe it.

The GPS is crap though. Mine seems to get a fix about once every 30 mins, and then only for a few seconds - so its useless for navigation. I've been led to believe there is a rom update available somewhere which fixes this known issue, but I've not found it yet.

I'm not sure yet about Battery life, as I've been off work with man-flu this week so although I've been using it a lot its been plugged in a fair bit. I think it should be okay with an overnight charge each night as long as its not used too much in the day, but it wouldn't really last long enough for too much serious use. It lasts longer than an iPhone with the O/S5 update though.

On the whole, as long as I can get the ROM which fixes the GPS I'm very happy with the phone. It beats carrying 2 phones as I had to before, and apart from a little performance, I've not really had to sacrifice any of the functions and features I had available to me when I carried the iPhone 4 & Desire Z everywhere. Its certainly slimmer than either in the pocket.

I'll keep using this now for another 6 months, and hopefully by then MTK will have brought out a proper 1Ghz Dual Core CPU and there will be a dual sim phone that really does perform as well as the main brand single sim alternatives.

My W7272 just arrived. First reaction is that is well built (a bit bulky though) and running smoothly. Will report more when I will have used it for a while.

Edit: Wifi running very smoothly (better than my MSM7227 phone I used before), GPS a little less sensitive, good enough for the car. graphics indeed very smooth.
Battery usage: it just survives one day with heavy playing on each functionality of the phone
 
Made up my mind and just ordered a Lenovo A60... Hope it will arrive soon.
Regarding the fact that we probably have to wait till 2012 to get Motorola or LG phones, I now choose the Lenovo.

Will let you all know how it works!
 
just received my Alcatel 913D.

Initial thought: very pleasantly surprised!

as I mentioned before, the phone is manufactured by TCL communication in China, which is a trustworthy manufacturer. total cost about $180 and shipping is free. no custom duty/tax involved in the process either, bought it from ebay, and only took 1 week to arrive.

Overall, the phone is very well built with a combination of metalic chrome and matt plastic finish, not at all feel like a budget phone. The build quality is comparable to HTC Sensation in my view. and its a very compact size (not bulky at all!) and very light, probably only slightly bigger than the old Motorola RAZR clamshell.

The phone support GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz + WCDMA 900/2100MHz.

The screen resolution is not very high though, and the UI seems have a bit of lag.

I will post a more detailed review once i have a bit of time with this little devil, especially the hardware configuration. and also, my A60 should arrive next week and when it does, i ll have a better comparison of the dual sim performance.

I'm still thinking the Gsmart cames with some firmware error that with the update will be solved and this answer corroborate that.

The Motorola is too expensive and have to show how it works. I hope the shadow from Google make that the rom works fine from the beggining.

Just received my FET T8888 and wan to get stuck in. Issues so far. Windows XP PC asks for Qualcomm HSUSB driver. Anyone know where to get one ? ..... Not tried on Win7 yet. Struggling with Google Navigator - doesn't appear to work on 3G - only Wifi. Want to root the phone so I can fully control. Sure I've seen a guide somewhere.

It is the same compay, only they have different websites, some of those is etowalk.com, etotalk.com and futurejs.com.

In my experience they will change between what website is active for PayPal payments. My guess is that at some point, after to many PayPal disputes the site will be closed by PayPal :-) For a long time the site etowalk linked to futurejs.com for PayPal payments...

I have bought a couple of phones from them, and their initial support is better then other Chinese sellers. The will help you with software updates and such. However, I bought a HD958 from them, where the microphone was broken (hardware problem). They were not really happy to repair or exchange the phone. I had to file and escalate a PayPal dispute. Thank god for PayPal protection - the ruled in my favor and got me a full refund :-)
