Best DUAL SIM android phone?

Good news concerning the new mediatek chipset in regard to dual sim:

With the MT6575 dual‐SIM solution, consumers will no longer have to worry about dropped calls while active data transfer is happening on either SIM card, and will experience automatic resumption of data exchange once calls on the other SIM card have ended, in addition, with the hot swap feature enabled, the SIM card can be inserted without switching off the mobile.

Thanks for the review!

How about receiving a cal on sim1 while browsing with sim2? Is that possible or is sim1 also disabled with a data connection on sim2?

Thanks
it runs true dual sim (all online), good battery, 1500mAh for 1.5 to 2 days, I like it, but not with support for English, Chinese version does not support the services of google .... I really needed it ... so sad ..

Flash it via fastboot, like I did

I posted the recovery image earlier in this thread.

How about receiving a cal on sim1 while browsing with sim2? Is that possible or is sim1 also disabled with a data connection on sim2?

Thank you all for feedback, first of all, I did that test:

I was downloading a lot of pictures on SIM1 so there was a huge traffic and only once of five attempts I managed to disable signal on SIM2, I got the message from my GSM provider after then, that I had one missed call.

Otherwise it worked well even if I used my SIM1 data connection, but true is that it happened, so if you are downloading big data it easily can happen. (But who did it with limited data tarification like me? :))

Then I tried to make call on SIM2 only with switched 3G on SIM1 and no internet surfing (just with messengers switched on). It was OK with no problems.

Update to battery life: yesterday I finished charging at 2PM = 100%, now I am still at 20%. I used my phone a lot and 3G was on during all night and day. So 1,5 day could be a good prediction.

Regards,

Petr

I fixed .....:D

Can you tell me how? I'm having exactly the same problem. I get the same symbols in the CMD window, but don't know what to hit to actually make it work. What did you do?

I've installed FastBoot on my PC & am happy to have a go with that, but as have no real experience of doing anything with a command line I would very much appreciate step by step instructions.

Would you be so kind?

Hi, just before you will buy it, FET T8888 was not much bigger/heavier than motorola with twice as big resolution, display is simple perfect and I really got used to it :), smaller resolution is my little setback :) I must say, but I had some good reasons and I needed to buy it quickly.

But there are many good comments about ZTE U960 so far and if:

- android market is fine
- google apps is fine
- 3G Europe support is fine
- true dual sim feature is inside
- some kind of brand (good fabrication) is there
- national support is OK (at least english environment)
- reasonable battery life for zte (bigger screen is real consumer), minimum one day
- no spyware inside
- no power sucking apps inside

Then it can be tough to decide! :)

Petr

Thank you very much polvo. Pleased to hear the + feedback. Please confirm the question from hidefault123.

It seems XT532 and U960 are two reasonable options - till Galaxy Y duo is launched. I am not too keen on U960 as it is too big for me and though am used to HTC Desire screen, I can live with 3.5" of XT532.

I am all the more inclined to buy XT532 now. Feedback from others would be great!

Thank you once again polvo!!

Guys, etotalk has a new promo right now. ZTE U960's price got cut --399 now plus shipping. The weird thing is that it says now that it has 8MP camera, hmmm.... I still haven't decided about it since i'm so hooked on SUPER AMOLED screens... i wonder how the phone's screen compares with a galaxy phone? anyone?

The LCD screen is a really good screen, way lbetter than the one used on Droid 3 or 4, on par with the one used on Droid/milestone 1,2, but with better white balance.

Amoleds screen are more amazing at the first look, but when you will use one of them for awhile you will realize that they are still not on par with a good LCD, looking at the color fidelity, the white balance and the durability.

I need a help, because I looking for a dual sim phone which have active both sim or when I have call connect to sim2 and at the same time I download something from internet the transfer is stop and the call is active.
I read that ZTE U960 and XT532 have this functionality but they are too expensive (I am looking samthing to 200$ and 3,5'' or more)

Only the ZTE is full dual radio, btw looks like the XT532 has the SIM2 available when the SIM1 is doing data transfer.

Cheaper android phones , based on MTK6573 have the SIM2 unavailable when sim 1 is busy either with voice calls or data transfers.

So, I'm afraid that the re isn't the smartphone you want at the price you want (yet).

You have to look at some featurephones to have a full dual radio for a more reasonable price.

quality/price is always a problem ...

If this h t t p://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i929_galaxy_s_ii_duos-reviews-4387.php (remove spaces between http) become real in WCDMA (for now is only cdma ev-do), it will become my next definitive phone ... maybe ... regardless of the price (almost) ...

Hi all dualsim maniacs! After one day using:

+ it really fits in hand, fabrication is excellent

Have you tried any custom roms yet. Cyanogenmod or other custom rom support might be an important thing to consider.

Secondly, XT532 is not available at all, at least not in India. Any pointers where I can get it in India.

Also, what do you guys think about XT532 vs LG Net Dual?

I have been using XT532 for over a week now, very solid little phone by itself.

custom rom support is very limited with XT532 at the moment, Motorola's tough stand on bootloader makes it not a popular choice for the dev. also the fact that not many owners of XT532 out there.

LG Net Dual seems neck to neck with XT532. I read before at least 2 online dealers in india sells LG Net, but i cant be 100% sure as I dont live in india.

if you set ur heart on XT532, there is a ebay seller from taiwan that sells XT532 globally.

Sorry I thought you was speaking about the ZTE, then I corrected quickly my message.

Unfortunately not quickly enough.

BTW, as far as I know, only the dual standby based on the MTK CPUs are affected by that annoying problem.

I asked to some XT532 owners to confirm that the SIM 2 is available during the data transfer over SIM1, before buying the ZTE, but no one replied to my question.

I have not had any problem on my XT532 sim 2 signal while sim 1 is on data.

While one of the sim is on call, the other one is disabled, as the phone only has 1 radio.

I think data is fine, sim 2 is clearly active (black colour in the notification bar) while sim 1 is on data. Sim 1 is up to WCDMA and Sim 2 is Edge only, that could be the reason.

i've bought a xt532 from taiwain. this seller is very professional. he has tracked with me my item. he has got a skype account and every day he has called me to give me new infos.

I found (for example, there are many other) for LG p698 in Brasil Carrefour and for xt532 China "xt532" Wholesale - Smartphone Professional - EtoTalk

Better to do a real test than guess on icons (the icons are there on affected phones too).

If you can, try to download something (or launch a speedtest) and call the sim 2 from another phone.

Thanks

- You need to have a custom rom in http://bbs.malshenzu.com/thread-htm-fid-80-page-2.html, after extracting that you have all the tool you need. (you need: the Rom "U960_B13.zip"; tool "一 键 U960 root.exe" + "一 键 recovery_cn.exe" in "一 键 工具"
- Then you install the default driver of U960 (Join Me), you need to download the USB drivers for fastboot in here: Deposit Files and run it (the driver in ZTE TU960 without this, it's problem, this driver is of the other ZTE android phone ... and it is compatible with the U960 ..., you can find the driver of another ZTE android phone in ZTE home page if you failed to download ....
- Connect your phone to PC and wait full connection, before you run the tool "一 键 U960 root.exe" , after successful hack root, you download or copy the app "Rom manager" and install it on your phone, you run it on the phone and online settings "ClockworkMod recovery" with the first option (Commtiva Z71 (Boston, Blaze, and more)). You must do it because you "recovery-cn.img" based on ClockworkMod (will be much simpler if ClockworkMod support ZTE-U960 :D :D :D)
- You unzip tool "一 键 recovery_cn.exe" in any folder and only interested the "recovery-cn.img"
- You download the tool "ADB Made Easy (2)" in ADB Made Easy - xda-developers and install on your PC, connect your phone to PC, run the tool, select "flash recovery to phone", select path to "recovery-cn.img ", tool will automatically flash recovery to your phone, this is the Chinese version, the language of recovery is Chinese, but that's okay, you can understand, because the English version are the same
- Complete the steps that you can install custom rom, google applications (in the ROM you downloaded) and free to use your phone ...
wish you success...
