Root Best kernel for Myn's RLS4??

I know it's an awful lot to read, but the best place to find out everything myn's warm related is the xda thread for it. Pretty much everything has been asked/answered over there. Conversation on RLS4 starts here:

The kernel in my sig works great with myns and i am enjoying great battery life

Netarchy smartass w/o havs

Im still on the HTC 17 kernel that came with it. Battery life seems to be good but can be a bit schitzophrenic as I can watch videos and get really long battery life but the phone can sit idle and use battery more quickly than desired. Ive tried to track down any app causing this but no luck just yet.

I tried Ziggy's and the phone wouldnt boot, just get hung at the HTC screen. Might try that netarchy 4.2.1 this weekend.

Did you try netarchy 4.2.1 over the weekend by any chance??? If so, how's it working out so far?

I have tried
Netarchy 4.21 more agg cfs/bfs
Netarchy 4.21 less agg cfs/bfs
Ziggy 11/24
HTC 17
Just installed NA 4.2 noHAVS
I have Kingz CFS 11 and Baked 6 on deck.

I cannot find a good working combo for RLS4. NA 4.21 cfs more agg was my daily driver cause I could OC and it was giving decent batt life...oddly seemed to get worse.

I was getting unreal batt life on RLS 2 with batt tweak. I gotta stop updating when I find a working combo. I just get bored and want a change....lol

HTC #17 worked good for me, but I went out searching for greener pastures. Ziggy and Kings #9 and 11 both produced pinstripe effects on my wallpaper at times. netarchy 4.1.9.1 cfs-havs-universal seems to have similar battery to HTC #17, but it doesn't crap out the Shoutcast radio buffer and stutter so I'm keeping it for now. I've only had it for a day though.

I haven't tried HTC#17 yet, KiNgx #9 BFS is my top pick so far (I got 14 hours since unplugged, moderate usage and was still at 77%), but I'm still trying some others. More than likely I'll end up going back to #9.....What kind of battery life were you getting with htc #17 and NA 4.1.9.1???

I could go a day on #17 with moderate use and using wifi at home. (3g at work) I could make it a weekend at home using wifi. Battery life so far w/ na doesn't appear to be quite as good, but I've been using my phone a lot more and it's only been installed for a day, so it's not a good comparison.

Ok so I just flashed and tried loading Kings 11 and it still shows the boot up screen as "please wait while starting". Been doing this for 10 minutes, what do I do pull the battery?

1) Did you wipe cache and dalvik, first? You're going to have problems if you don't. If you didn't, pull the battery, boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, then reflash the kernel.

2) If you did wipe cache and dalvik, it can sometimes take that long to boot, but if it's still there at this point, watch it closely - you might be in a boot loop. What with the new boot animation not having sounds, it's easy to miss if you're in a boot loop if you're not watching it closely. If you are in a boot loop, wipe cache/dalvik again, and reflash it.

3) If all else fails, nandroid restore (you made a backup first, right) or reflash the rom without wiping data. That'll at least get you back up.

EDIT: Also, did you let it boot up at least once before you flashed a different kernel?

yes I already had myns rls4

I did wipe cache and dalvik, but i wiped bat stats w/o rebooting just wiped cache/dalvik before and after.

It been a over 10 minutes now, so I guess I'm pulling the battery

Yeah, pull the battery and try again. Also, maybe download it again. You could have gotten a bad download. Did you verify it's actually been trying to load for 10 minutes and not just a boot loop?

no boot loop just trying to load, and this file worked on rls3, i just used the same one so it should work fine.

Thanks for the help, i'll update what happens

edit:
rebooted/recovery/wiped c-d/install kernel from zip/reboot

Thanks!

How weird. Well, give it another shot and let's see what it does. I've had an occasional fluke with flashing kernels, as well, where I just had to reflash it.

Yup works fine now, reflashed it and it loaded, fine, funny how inconsistent technology is at times. Thanks for the help. I hate pulling the battery, last option possible.

wow longbench on setCPU w/my settings doesn't finish until you power the screen back on, very cool!

I left Kingz cfs 11 this morning and went to bfs 9. From here I am going to visit Baked 6, HTC 10, Ziggy rls4, then htc 17. By then, I will have tried damn near all of them with no real success on batt life. This bfs 9 is doing OK so far.

I've tried damn near everything recently as well!....I've tried Kingx 11 bfs & cfs (BFS worked better than CFS and did well as far as battery life is concerned), Baked 6 did ok on my phone as well, HTC 10 and 17 drained my battery 6-10% immediately after flashing then rebooting my EVo, Ziggy RLS4 was unstable for me, so I went back to Kingx BFS 9.....by far kingx bfs 9 has given me the best performance and battery life. After 14-15 hours (8 hours sleep time and about 6-7 hours of moderate use, ie: talking on phone, texting, angry birds, etc.), I'll still have about 77-80% battery left! I'm gonna stick with this kernel until something else comes along I can try.

I just removed Kingz 9 and added HTC 10. Charging to 100% then gonna let her go. I can tell right from unplugging if i'll have success or not. Back on RLS3, I could unplug and sit on 100 for 20 mins or more.

That's the kind of battery life I'm experiencing with KiNgx bfs 9......I guess I got pretty lucky with that one.

Just flashed myn's warm twopointtwo last night and am loving it! Have tried overclockiing with a few different kernels and have been getting some reboots so I'm back to the stock htc kernel (17). The stock kernel is running great, but can't overclock

Try KiNgx BFS #9, I believe you can overclock with that (I haven't tried), and I've had insanely good luck with it as far as battery life is concerned! Have you tried any Netarchy kernels???
