Now that I'm rooted, very interested in flashing the Vaelpak 3.2 ROM or the Caulkin 2.8.

Want to know whats the best Kernel for battery life, heating temp, performance & audio/video, etc.

Congrats on rooting! A lot of forum members have had great success with Netarchy's kernels, you can find them here:

The best we can do is recommend kernels we've had success with, but since every Evo reacts differently to kernels, you'll just have to try em out and see which one works best with your setup. What works great with one group of Evo's, may prove unstable for another group. Hope this helps.

For me Netarchy 4.3.4-cfs-havs-more-sbc is doing great! Over on the VaelPak Forums Vaelek's Place - Unreal Portal a lot of people are having very good luck with the latest Ziggy471 Kernels specifically the 03.12.2011-cfs & the 03.18.2011-cfs kernels. Some are getting simply amazing battery life with those kernels. You can get them here:

Try VaelPak you won't be disappointed.

I have the same problem with the Ziggy kernels, sluggish performance on cfs, or bfs, & eventually the random reboots start. I pretty much stick with Netarchy now on VaelPak now. I do try the Zig kernels when they come out, but have yet to find one my phone likes.
The latest Netarchy v4.3.4-cfs-havs-more-sbc-HDMwIn has been running great for me, the phone seems to like it.
