best notepad app for evo

I use Catch and very happy with it. I need to be able to read my notes when I don't have a connection and this just works.

Chalk up one more for ColorNote....simple and effective. It even allows you to rearrange items that you have already listed and saved.

I use Evernote. It syncs between my Evo, iPad, home Mac and work PC. It has a lot of flexibility in organizing the notes and how they are formatted.

And this is big for me... accessibility across platforms and machines.

Now, more than ever, I look for apps that can be used on different OSes. Never know when the Android love will wane, ya know?

Just got ColorNote. Not only a note pad, but it has a checklist, a widget to paste it to your home screen, alarm/reminder function. Love it! :)

Good point. I switched from iPhone to Evo two weeks ago. Evernote quickly installed on my Evo and I was able to sync all my notes in a few seconds.

I use Color Note. I have privacy concerns about Evernote. From what I recall, the app wants too many privileges, and your private notes may not be fully secure. Color Note asks for virtually no privileges and you can back up to SD card, as well as email to yourself if needed.

Is ColorNote syncable to cloud?

No, but it can back up to SDcard. Colornote doesn't even need network communication, that's how little privileges it asks for.

I use it for to-do lists, after Astrid / RememberTheMillk kept force closing all the time. I love Colornote.

Aside from using catch I just downloaded slide notes and it works well for a very simple notepad with a small footprint.

I've tried a lot of the above and currently use Mobisle Notes: it's good for the everyday little stuff like groceries and to-do for the day.

I'd like a more robust app for other things, one that would include pictures and cloud sync. I have Evernote, but right now it takes way too long to load, sometimes two minutes. And it's rather complicated, I think. I tried UNote but that would force close when trying to view any pictures I had attached. ( Last night I had to pull the battery to get rid of it as it froze the phone.)

AK doesn't seem to have pictures-attaching.

Am I missing something you smart people own? :) And I'm going now to check out Springpad.

If you are looking for something simple, mNote is an option that syncs with your ipad/ipod/iphone simple note and its cloud back up. Not a lot of features but takes notes and backs them up

we all know that the evo didnt come with a native notepad app unfortunately especially for people who use there phones for music writing and such when on the go but the android market has damn near everything and i came across ak notepad which is a good app but more then one time the shit deleted a couple tracks......and im done with it any other good notepad apps out there well im looking for the best one to write music on something good like the memo pad in the blackberry or iphone

Im curious what you mean by music writing... Are you talking about notation software like Sibelius?

I'm still looking for the perfect note app. However, for creating a simple list of things with a TRANSPARENT background, I really like memo widget.

Here's a screen shot of a simple WalMart shopping list with transparent background:

Nice; that looks way cool Palmetto Fellow.

Sorry i didnt post up my solution earlier, which has been working great for me for a long time now: Gtasks

It auto-sync with my google calendar (under gmail account)
most often i dont even bother to assign a due date, although that function is VERY important on some tasks.....

Checking off an item doesnt delete it; it just moves to the bottom of your lists, and it is lined-out .... which i find VERY nice.

I also like the full screen usage of Gtasks (small pads (usable screen size) of some other apps and their widgets seem pretty stupid to me)

Oh yeah; the fact that Gtasks allows me to enter items using voice command is important, cause i MOST often find myself making lists while driving or performing other important duties.

oh yeah; the widget is nice in that it allows me to look at the first line of MANY different post-it-notes, at the same time... to see the entire list click on one
