Root best ROM for droid x

guys, i had an lg ally for about 3 weeks. i had it rooted and was running velocity 0.3 on it. the speaker went out on it and i was given the option to upgrade when i took it in. so i did, to the droid x. so far i love it but im ready to start rooting it. velocity was the popular ROM choice for the ally and i was wondering what the masses are going with for the x? thanks!!
 
I would recommend Apex 1.3.1 or Liberty 1.0

I used both and currently on Liberty. I have to say both are incredible roms. Apex leaves in some Blur aspects in while Liberty is based on AOSP but gives you a toolbox to add in some of the Blur stuff. I would say Liberty is just little faster and so a little smoother but I just started running it this morning. Both roms have great developers and support.
 
If you have to have blur then ApeX 1.3.1, if you don't want blur and you want the fastest Rom then Liberty. The only thing I miss on Liberty is the dialer, I installed the blur camera and that's all the blur I want. Liberty is very fast, ApeX is about as fast as you can get (currently) with keeping blur.
 
Blur is the skin Moto stretches over Android. Like HTC does with Sense UI, Samsung does with TouchWiz, etc... does LG leave Android vanilla? If so bravo. I wish yhat would catch on.

As far as ROMs for the X... give me Liberty or give me death.

And that's all I have to say about that.
 
ahhh i get it. putting their own little twist on the os to make it "theirs". nice. downloading liberty as we speak. thanks for all the help guys. this forum is the best.

You'll miss the dialer, I suggest downloading dialer one and touchpal smart dialer to replace the one that comes with Liberty.

yeah i think i might be trying out a new dialer...the Blur one is better...

also...the Blur Camera beats the pants off the camera included with Liberty as well...that was one of the first things i added back...

not to hijack this thread...but does the Blur SMS app work on Liberty?...im not crazy about what Liberty comes out...
 
running liberty now. very nice. i have just a few questions though. i used to be able to hit the home button twice and it would take me to the voice command and i noticed it doesnt do that anymore. is there something i need to download? also, how do you get more icons in the same bar that the dialer, apps, and browser are in? i noticed in some on the theme screenshots some people have more.
 
Apex, liberty, fission, Ssx 1.1 and RubiX are your top rated roms. We are fortunate to have so many good choices.

One way to grow into rom savviness would be to try them all and decide for yourself!
 
I've tried most roms out there. Fission, tranQ, apex, liberty etc and all have had some small bug or issue. Right now I'm currently running darkslide 4.2 and I'm amazed. Not a single bug and a very responsive rom.
 
IMO

for customization: liberty
for battery life: apex

They are both great roms, personally I think apex because its the most noob friendly. It will keep all the blur apps you are used to and eliminate the ones you don't need.

Where can I find blur apps?
 
LIBERTY1.0 is my choice love there toolbox it makes this Rom stand out from others. I get great battery life, runs smooth no bugs for me yet.
 
Bump. I'm curious about Liberty but it sounds buggy as shit. Now that it's been out for a bit, people still recommending this? Or should I stick with ApeX?
