Accessories best screen protector

I went to Best Buy yesterday in Chicago and asked for an Invisishield for my new epic (which already got a really small scratch-so I don't think it's gorilla glass- mind you, i've been treating the phone like a baby so no idea how I got the scratch )

Anyway, they said they were told to remove them from all the shelves because they were defective. I went to another best buy (also in Chicago) and didn't see any protectors on the shelves so asked the BB Mobile rep if they had any. They were all piled on his workstation and said they were defective and were told to remove them.

Any idea why? I managed to talk them into selling me one but before I apply it, wondering why they are "defective".

Any thoughts? They had an epic with the screen protector on it and it seemed to respond well, although the glare seemed a little worse.

Thanks

My cover was incorrectly installed a week ago so I went back to have them reapply it. He said he would just give me a new one but they were pulled off the shelf as well.

I was told it was because the solution they use to apply the screen was causing blurriness, something about the AMOLED screen and a combination of the type of plastic it uses with the solution.

They haven't shipped out the new ones yet, but when they do (if you bought one before, like me) you should be able to get a replacement. I asked him if I would need my receipt and he said anyone that knows that much about why they were pulled should get the replacement no hassle.

I didn't have blurriness issues and personally love the screen protector, but I will still take advantage of a free replacement :D

Love the phone. Hate that the $15 screen protector I bought from sprint maket this crazy static/glitter effect. Anyone else have any word on if this is a confirmed defect by sprint...and if so can I get a replacement?

I used the edge of a credit card to squeegee most of the air bubbles out from under the Clarivue clear screen protector. When the phone is turned off, I can see the smudges from fingerprints on the screen protector and there is that slight rainbow effect that others have mentioned. Fortunately, when the phone is turned on, the display shows up clear and without any distortion.

I have REALOOK screen protector from Amazon.com (same as buminthealley's) and it works great! It doesn't make the display worse like most screen protectors and it doesn't decrease sensitivity. Best screen protector for the Epic if you ask me!

Gorilla Glass is stronger than any screen protector you're likely to put on it ...

I'm also really nice to my phones, my Moment was naked the whole time I owned it and by the time I gave it up the screen was still pristine.

Maybe true but I'd rather see the scratch on my removable and replaceable $10 screen protector than potentially permanently on my $500 screen.

+1000000000.....i have the REALOOK on 2 Epics and it fits beyond perfect...very clear can barely know its there...so longs as you put it on right with no bubbles...tip for installing close bathroom door and turn on shower to hottest temp let stem fill up and then wipe screen clean and install protector slowly while pushing out bubbles

Little grave digging here, but Ghost Armor is quality also. I tried the Realook on my epic and it seemed to streak pretty bad for me. Also had a Zagg protector on my crackberry. No comparison.

Well i am hella OCD, like really. but i have tried all the screen protectors and have to say that SEIDIOS screen protectors fit the best and have the best feel. they feel like glass and fit so perfect you cant tell they are even on the phone. but now i just rock it bare, had like that for about a month and no scratches at all. but if you must go SEIDIO!

i had that one on my phone & it sucked .. maybe it was just a few out of the many but it was larger then the screen by just a lil & took away from the soft keys sensitivity & even made any light colored screen backround have visible thin rainbow lines. also heard a few other folks that this happened to .... also on my evo that whole "scratch resistant" line is bullshit as my phone lightly rubbed up on a very dull & round seatbelt & tore a hole right thru it .... i will admit it protected the devices screen 100% tho & the good part is they guaranteed it .. but after i had to express my belief that it was bullshit they tried to deny it in the first place

I just ripped off my Zagg shield on mine because I literally can't see my screen in the sunlight on the brightest level. Better without it. Their guarantee is useless since it still costs you $4.00 to have the new one shipped. Guess it is better than the $21 though. I might get it for the fall/winter but need something for the summer. Any suggestions? Why can't i see my screen outside when all my friends with an iphone can?

I got a pack of universal screen protectors from Radio Shack. They are WriteRight brand. Looks like crap when the screen is off, but you don't see it at all when the screen is on unless it's a very dark background (like the default messaging screen).

I'll use up the rest of the pack (5 for $8) before I buy something else.

I got the same at WalMart for 3 or 4 dollars, have not put one on yet. I bought a case logic soft case for my Epic, in the photo department at Wal also. I'm hesitant to put a screen protector on either, as the view is really fine without it. So I am being very areful with it and always have the case within reach to place it in.

I did get a new microfiber cloth and lens cleaner at their eye clinic (Wal's Vision Center). I just looked at another thread about the Seidio case that looks like it comes with a protective plastic screen (very thin??) so I will look into that. I don't see why the galaxy series phones would not have one available when the iphones have them.

That's crazy. Mine is perfectly fine in the bright Texas sun, love the zagg shield and plan to get them for any future phones.

I work at Best Buy Mobile and I would highly recommend the Invisishield Screen Protectors. They are guaranteed for life and scratch resistant. You can literally take a key to it and nothing happens. I've had one on all my phones and threw one on the second I picked up my Epic today. Just be sure to have one of our guys put it on for you because believe me these are like putting window tint on and you will screw it up if you try it yourself :)

Yeah I had one and it peeled off from sticking to things like lighters in my pocket, but I will say...it worked really well while it stayed on. They are a huge anger fest when trying to put on haha.

One word - PhantomSkinz - the best screen protectors I have used, bar none.

I've tried them all - BSE, Zagg, etc etc etc. Nothing beats my PhantomSkinz.
