Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

Someone PM me when CM7 is sorta stable. I totally have not been paying attention to whats been going on. So far all I can figure out is that theres an issue with superuser, at least 4 builds, no GPS, no Camera without 3rd party fix, no Crt and a bunch of user stuff.

I've been excited as hell since CM7 dropped, but currently dealing with some girlfriend issues and fell behind on all the developments.

just boot your gf os into bootstrap recovery
wipe data and cache
install the new GF OS

and she runs like new again ^_^

sorry i had to do it :p

You can use a third party Flashlight program just fine. I have tried both Mototorch LED as well as the flashlight button on the SwitchPro Widget and both work fine (both use the flashlight LED as the lamp, not the screen as some programs do).

Yeah, I should have clarified... I meant the built-in one so that I can use the toggle in the notification bar.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

Wow just made me think how good life could be if relationships were like android phones.

Developers always working on making something hot for you.
Once you have found one you like the developers still try and make it better and will help you troubleshoot issues.
One you make think is out of our league and you will never have a shoot at (CM7) a developer pulls it off and you can get the hottest thing around.
To top it all off, you can customize it to meet your needs and it does not want much in return.

Life could be soooooo good. Daydream over and back to work now :(

I'm running nightly build #4. Upgrade path was .596 -> SBF to FroYo -> Z4 to root -> D2 Bootstrap to install downloaded nightly build #4 -> factory reset.

After that, I rebooted to recovery and flashed Superuser and Google Apps.

So, you weren't on any version of cm7 when you started? The nightlies contain the whole thing without needing to downlaod the monster zip or anything?

Yessir.

The only thing the Monster.zip file does for you is swaps out the kernel and baseband released with Gingerbread, with the kernel and baseband that CM7 supports (the version that shipped with FroYo) - without having to SBF/re-root/etc.

For me, it was about a wash because it was going to take a little time to use the Monster.zip, apply it twice as prescribed, then upgrade to Nightly #4. So I just used the SBF and went straight to #4.

I'm aware Netflix is a no go so far on this rom but should Netflix be giving a message something about your device has been deactivated... and prompt for your sign in info again. I thought the video would just give an error msg as "cannot play" or something of the sorts?

Disregard the popup,
The popup is only due to the current state of CM4DX....
Once things are fixed, Netflix will be back to like butter.

Exactly what binary visions told you. ;)
Monster zip isn't necessary, only an option.
You can start at build#0, or build#5, or 20 etc etc
CM4DX is a beautiful thing and work in progress.
Every night is exciting as a new build releases...
I don't care if there's only 1 fix, I look at it being 1 more step closer to being done.

On a side note, I am an addict to nightlies. All geek over here.

no such thing as a "Froyo Kernel." Kernels and OS versions are completely independent of each other...its just built off the Kernel that shipped with Froyo...

Whatever bro. No need to be all arrogant about shit as you usually are. Go outside once in awhile and breathe some fresh air instead of posting here constantly with all your annoying .... every two seconds. I know all about the kernels etc its a figure of speech.

I'd like the option to clear the cache to erase past transgressions.

Yes. Just checked.

On another note, I'm being plagued by the: "The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" [Force Close]

I'm not even opening any apps or such it just keeps popping up.

This is probably where most of the bugs are coming from. Camera, video, music, battery.

Looking at my current list of bugs:

1) most of my music files don't play (all are are wma, even working ones)
2) video doesn't play
3) noticable battery drain
4) camera/camcorder
5) bluetooth voice dial starts up and fails right away
6) network (tower) location doesn't work
7) quite often hard buttons and usb cables need to be pressed (or inserted) twice for the event to register.

There may be more but they aren't significant enough for me to remember.

I'd be willing to bet that #1-4 and probably even 5 are related to a couple of minor bugs in the media process. That would just leave network location and the event presses being lost.

I'd say this is a heck of a build for being less then a week old, and it is so much nicer to use then any stock build we've had from Motorola.

Ok so i am on the original CM& listed in post 1 and im enjoying everything about it except the no gps issue, can someone link me to the gps fix and im hoping its a zip...lol

I don't think this is specific to CM4DX, but didn't think it warrants a new thread since I've seen it before...

Not all my apps are showing up in the market and nor did it automatically download my backed ups...what can I do to fix this?

Also, my upgrade path was monster.zip-> gps fix -> gapps universal for CM7 (i couldn't find directions for this, you just install zip at CWM, right?) --> installed nightly #4 (just installed zip at CWM as well)

I'm dumb. Must of my files see wma not all. I guess cyanogenmod doesn't support wmas.

well, I just couldnt stand it any longer and loaded up the monster.zip this afternoon. All went nice and smooth up until now. I finally figured out where the nightly updates come from even though i paid for the premium rom manager. I click on check for updates and it doesnt do squat. So I downloaded the #5 update and now I cant access my SD card? I get two USB icons at the top left. One is your normal option selector and the other is a green android guy asking if I want to connect to usb. Tell him yes and it just sits there and sits there twirling a circle icon. I cant see the phone on my PC either. So, I went to moto's site and downloaded drivers and that didnt solve anything either. Rebooted twice.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, moved Angry Birds off the SD and onto the phone and that solved the problem.

I dont have any games at all on the phone. The odd thing is that everything worked while getting CM7 onto the phone. Now I cant get to the card. I clicked on Unmount the sd card and it seemed to have failed that process as well.

Any other apps on the SD card?
(sorry for the random thanks, I meant to hit quote... :P)

Hmmm i see that gps is working, it still like normal camara, camcorder, and videos working before i jump over.

For any with weather widget problems, why not just set your location?

Battery life seems improved in Nightly #4, at least for me.

Light-ish usage, but even yesterday's heavy usage seemed much improved.

I won't flash until it more stable-er ish. I work too hard to get my desktop setup, then lose it with another nightly or lose the desktop widgets and the like if my phone reboots into safe mode. Too much work for me.

However, I do like how configurable it is. I'll move over to it when it becomes more settled.

nothing that wasnt there this morning. The only files added were to get to CM7.

Update on my issue...
I decided to erase the SD card and it seems to have solved the SD card access issue. Adios to several hundred pictures, but I think I transferred everything worth keeping long ago. Its time for a 100% fresh start, like it or not.
