better battery?

He can use it as a charger when the phone runs low or he can just keep the phone on there and use it like a battery. Good thing is, you can just take the phone off when you don't want the bulk without interuption.

Okay cool, that's kind of sweet. Sorry thought haven't heard of one for any Android phones yet. I'm sure someone has heard something though.

So would the 1750 be worth it? and would i need to get a new case or would the stock one be fine?

I am not for sure how much time it will actually give you. Though the back casing of the phone will still work, so no worries there.

IMHO it isn't worth it when u can get one twice as big for an extra $20.

The stock cover and any case will fit with the 1750 mAh battery in place as it is OEM size.

Yeah I would love to get the 3500 but wow it makes the phone look ugly and it wouldn't be worth it to have a smaller phone without a keyboard then bulk it up.

i couldnt deal with the extra size so i ordered the 1750 yesterday...ill let you know after it arrives !!!! that will give me the 1750 and the 1300 for a backup !!!

Got these specs for the Nexus One from Google:

"Power and battery

Removable 1400 mAH battery Charges at 480mA from USB, at 980mA from supplied charger

Talk time

Up to 10 hours on 2G
Up to 7 hours on 3G

Standby time

Up to 290 hours on 2G
Up to 250 hours on 3G

Internet use

Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 6.5 hours on Wi-Fi

Video playback Up to 7 hours
Audio playback Up to 20 hours"

This from a 1400mAh battery? Is the difference that it's running 2.1?

I ordered the 1750mAh battery as soon as I saw it was available and it gets here Tuesday. I'll let you know the impact on battery life I get.

It fits, mostly. I received the 1750 mAh battery yesterday. If you hold it back to back with the stock battery, it is not exactly the same size - it is a bit thicker (which, of course, makes sense.) The back mostly fits - there is an area on the left side of the phone, near the volume buttons, where it leaves just a slightly noticeable gap.

I use a case with my Eris, so I'm not all that worried about it, and the extra capacity will be very helpful to me.

I got the battery Saturday (1750MAH) - it fits perfectly - I dont have any gaps ala doogald - it seems to be the exact same size as OEM - unfortunatly I havent noticed any real improvement in battery life - picked it off the charger at 7:20AM and right now 3:35PM it is at 16%...which is actually a bit worse than usual - I turned on wifi for about 30min in the early AM, and have been using the phone fairly consistently but not outrageous througout the day.

I am not discouraged yet for the following reasons

1. I havent run the battery all the way to zero yet - which seemed to have helped the OEM battery by calibrating the gauge to the actual battery

2. The manufacturer said it takes 5-6 charge cycles to reach its potential - which is also consistent with my OEM experience.

Falltime... that makes me feel a little better that yours fits like oem...that would have really p*ssed me off !!!! I charged my oem and then ran it down to zero for 3 days and that seemed to help...keep us updated please !

Just went to the mail and there it was!
It went into the phone with no case probs. Fits like the OEM.
Now to charge it up for the 8 recommended hours.

Got mine (1750mAh) Saturday. Have run it down fully twice now and allowed 8hr charges. Will run it down again tonight and give it another 8hr charge. It is lasting longer than the 1300, and that is what's expected since it is a larger battery. Right now it's at 54% with moderate use. The 1300 would've been at around 30%. So far so good. :-)

There is no reason to run down a LiON battery. That as for NiCad. LiON doesn't have memory, it has a maximum charge discharge cycle. So you're batter will last longer if you charge it less but while nikel batteries would get a shorter life if you charged them before they were dead. Lithium will charge and discharge fully until it just stops taking a charge.

Just something I read on another thread. Full discharge 2-3 times, then charge whenever. May not help, but don't think it'll hurt either. Will report tomorrow.

Yes, the battery memory is definitely a thing of the past for us, however what happens is that the phone's battery meter does not give a true reading of the batteries charge until the battery has been charged and discharged fully. It has nothing to do with the battery life but instead with the reporting of how much battery you have.

The battery may really have a 40% charge but your phone may show 20% and begin the low batt warnings far too early. If you leave the phone on, you will find that the phone seems to stay at 20% for a very long time. Allow it to cycle a few times and you get the true reading. Some people have the erroneous assumption that they are actually getting more battery life from the battery itself though.

I would love to have something like this rechargeable external battery from Mophie, but they're only for the ifone.
