better battery?

So I have had the 1750mah battery since Sat -...my verdict:

Meehhh -

It does seem to last longer - I am burning about 7% an hour (with moderate use) vs. 10% an hr before.....but overall, it doesnt give you enough time to use it all day and not 'worry' about battery life.
If you want another battery then sure its great, but if you OCD about the battery running down during the day, this battery will barely ease your symptoms.

Falltime...thanks for the update...mine is in the mail so ill wait until it arrives and see what happens...have you run the battery down to zero and then fully charged it up ?

Twice

Dont mis-intepret it is a good battery, all I am saying is if your buying it b/c you think that once its installed you can turn everything on and go through an entire day without any battery concern at all (like a BB) , then you are definitly going to be disappointed.

If you want a battery with (anecdotally) about 20% more time - then you'll be hapy.

IMHO

so does the Seidio Slim Extended battery fit like the OEM battery? I heard stories that it pops up on the left side near the volume buttons. Can anyone confirm this?

mine does a little bit. i use a case though so it all works out for me.

Buy a 2nd stock battery and a cradle that allows you to charge the spare. Carry both with you and swap when the first runs down. Twice the life for less than the cost of the 1750.

Right on bro! That's what I've been preaching. So have you gotten your cradle and 2nd battery? I'm still doing okay with one battery for now but I'm gonna go ahead and make the plunge on payday.

7%/hr discharge rate vs 10%/hr discharge rate is a relative improvement of 30%. The 1750 mA-hr battery has 34.6% larger capacity than the stock one, so the observed results of falltime seem reasonable, to me. A stock 1300 mA-hr battery through Verizon is $39.99, vs $49.95 for the 1750 mA-hr battery from Seidio. So 34% more life for 25% more cost than stock.

The Mophie Juice pack for the phone is pretty well designed. Doesn't add too much bulk, and gives you the option to charge both devices at the same time, then toggle the internal case battery using that switch on the bottom.

I figured i'd get a second battery anyway. Anyone know a good combo for a cradle/charger?

Also, is it possible to overcharge the battery? This is my biggest concern, because I know you're not supposed to leave a computer plugged in all the time. What's the cut off, is 8 hours over night bad for the phone?

i just ordered the 1750 mAh battery. i know it's not a huge improvement, but according to capacity, if my current battery yields 24 hours of run time, then the new one should yield 32 hours. not bad.

i received my 1750 on wednesday and i have no issue with the battery door not fitting !!! ive been using it for 2 days and im very happy with its battery life.. I got my phone for free and now ive spent $55.00 for the battery and $10.00 for a case.. i now consider my self way ahead ... $65.00 for this phone is a great deal...bring on 2.0 !!!!!

I use my phone heavily in the morning streaming Pandora at work, and at the gym, so by the time 12:00 runs around, my phone is dead. I don't mind the 3500 mah battery, granted it is huge, makes the phone just about twice the size as it originally is, but I'm more then happy to have it for the extra juice. Till they released the new batteries, I was using a Imagio 1500 mah battery in my phone. It fits, just the sides do not snap on all the way.

FYI, I saw stock Eris batteries (1300mAh) on ebay for $19.99 buyout, free shipping. On seidioonline.com you can get an external battery charger for $12.95+shipping. Great combo for less than $40.

I'm not really good with measurements, nor do I have a ruler on hand at the moment, but if you stack 12 quarters on top of each other, that is how high the phone sits with the new battery and new door. I will start a thread later today and post a picture with it up.

Here is a comparison of it against a few well known things.

Just got my 3500 battery today... I use my phone heavily and as much as I don't like the extra bulk... I need a phone that will last while I travel a lot. So far it is working great... I can't see why this would not make it through at least a day now.

Just to answer a question, I saw earlier... not only has the size increased but the battery add a lot of weight to a very lightweight phone...

It actually doesn't look that bad with the 3500....

I have an opportunity to run a usage test on the 1750mAh. I'm currently painting part of my living room (day off) and had to move entertainment center. So decided to grab an old pair of PC speakers and hook up the Eris to stream my local sports radio talk show while I'm painting.

Started with 100% charge at 09:00. At 12:00, battery at 40%.

20% usage per hour -- I should get 5 hours of constant internet radio streaming (with mobile net not wifi btw).

Just bought the battery on eBay for 19.99 and a charging sync cradle with external battery charger for $17.90 including shipping. I believe the seido 1750 battery is 49.95. Even if shipping is free, I am 12 bucks up and have nearly twice the capacity, plus having the cradle is nice too.
