BGR: GNEX users "Plagued" by reboots

I have not had any issues with this. Maybe it is more prevalent with the gsm version because the 3 people I know with a verizon nexus have no issues.

never had a single one either (VZW gnex). had it since launch day. i don't let alot of apps stay on my phone for long unless i trust them/use them, i wonder if these reports are people that all have an app installed that doesn't play well with ICS?

I get a random reboot once every other day. A couple of days I've had 2 reboots. So, yeah...I've definitely experienced it...but I wouldn't call it a plague! :)

But I will say I don't like it when it happens, of course.

My thoughts exactly! Apps that haven't been updated to play nice with ICS are most likely the cause. Or I guess ICS may have interal issues that don't allow certain apps to play nice with ICS.

Either way the wife and I have only experienced random reboots a couple times each.

I am a more than a little disappointed in this article. I think BGR can do better than this sensationalist, thinly veiled hit peice on the GNex.
Considering being active on this forum should yield the first signs of info regarding issues with the phone, if this issue were a "plague" it would be all over the place. But the first three pages of threads yields no topic regarding random reboots (I didn't look any further) . It has not made the known issues thread either. That says all I need to know about this "plague".

No reboots.
VZW GNex (unlocked and rooted, but stock) 4.0.2

None on mine

Would be helpful to see if anyone who is experiencing reboots what version they are on and rooted/ROM'd/etc

Me:
VZW GNex (stock, not rooted) 4.0.2

Incidentally I used to get these about once a month on my Nexus One heh.

Bone stock Verizon GNex here, and I had around 10 random reboots while using Navigation on a long car trip. Besides that only 1 other one I can think of.

I have a friend who has been experiencing pretty frequent reboots in a variety of apps. Something is definitely up.

GSM "yakju" on 4.0.2 Stock for mine, no unexpected reboots.

I'd wager it has more to do with 3rd party apps or custom ROMs than a system fault (given the fact that some experience it while others don't). It would also be interesting to see if a factory reset solved it for anyone (and further than that whether it would happen again before adding all your third-party apps back)...

Two in the last three days. Stock on 4.0.2. Anyone use lightflow? I'd like to see a comparison between who uses it and who doesn't. Maybe could have something to do with it. I do use it.

I do use lightflow, and so does my friend. However, I don't think he had lightflow installed when the reboots started happening.

Good enough. Sounds like we put that to rest quick. Great app btw just was worried it could have been that. : )

If you're getting 10 reboots per day/week I might suggest seriously giving some thought to exchanging your device (assuming you are stock).

Factory reset might be a good first troubleshooting step too.
