Root Big probs with internal memory

whittall1

Newbie
Ok..Ive rooted my phone and tried several flavoured Roms.
I had settled on LeeDroid and was messing around with RomManager and tried to back up my current rom as I thought that would be sensible.
Phone rebooted and got stuck, tried rebooting several times but got stuck on same screen (HTC) every time.
Decided to reinstall LeeDroid and start again
Before reinstalling I wiped data and cache etc from recovery mode.
But now when the phone has setup it shows 49mb free internal memory wheras before there was 139mb.
What am I doing wrong ?
I have tried to reinstall leedroid 3 times now but the memory is still 49mb
Is there a way of clearing the internal?

many thanks
Dave

As per PM:

Hiya.

Theres a known issue whereby the first nandroid backup causes a bootloop (what you have experienced). All you need to do is restore that nandroid backup and all should be fine from then on.

Its really best to boot into recovery manually and completely remove rom manager from your device and never utter its name again ;)

139 MB is not much lesws than the full amount of memory available. Ive seen roms with no apps installed have less free space than that. How many apps have you installed?

Is Leedroid a2sd by default? Im not sure about that rom.

How do i do a full wipe Rasta?
All I can see in the menu is wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache.
Ive done both of those

Thanks SU

How would you start fresh?
Not sure about how to restore the nandroid backup.
Are there any roms that you would recommend that still has HTC sense, preferably a gingerbread sense if there is such a rom out there.
No I dont think that LeeDroid supports Appsd.

Quite worried that i filled my memory up due to me installing a new rom several times over the last 25hours.
Is there a failsafe way to make sure the internal memory is empty before I install another rom?

Just done the wipe data and reinstalled the rom but it still leaves 49mb !
Cant understand it, the same rom left 138mb this morning before i messed it up.

Did you check the erase size before rooting by the way? As per any decent, up-to-date unrevoked rooting guide?

Any more thoughts on my problem SU?
As I say I have tried wiping the data and cache but still no good?
Is it possible to view the files on the internal memory, that may help

Rastaman...guess what.. I stuffed the original back-up !

I agree something is not wiping correctly
Dont know how to get out of this one.

Sorry SU, just refreshed and saw the reply.
Thought I followed your guide to the letter, and I downloaded the terminal to check the size, and was satisfied with what it reported in line with your guide, but I didnt take a note !!
Is it possible to start over again? If so is there anything I should be aware of?

Just ran terminal again and got:-

Dev size erasesize name
mtd0 000a0000 00020000 misc
mtd1 00480000 00020000 recovery
mtd2 00300000 00020000 boot
mtd3 0fa00000 00020000 system
mtd4 02800000 00020000 cache
mtd5 093a0000 00020000 userdata

Just download terminal emulator and run the command. If its erase size 40000 need to change your recovery and if not, best to format system, data and cache via recovery and reflash Rom

Edit> ok.format what I said and reflash ,)

Sorry SU i'm getting lost as the post goes on.
Im guessing that the advise now is to format system, data and cache via recovery and reflash Rom because my erase size is 00020000?
Isnt that what I have been doing wiping data and cache from recovery and reflashing?
