I don't care whats coming, if P3 has anything to do with it, I'll pass

Haha ok fair enough, but I'll be grumpy about it!![]()
Got you there that's for sure. LOLoh really...hmm
I swear I saw a tweet by @b16a2smith that said it does downgrade the mbm, maybe he was not talking about the sbf
whats happening friday?
P3Droid This is from P3's twitter yesterday and I couldn't find it, but I remember seeing that Birdman also said to look out for what's coming on Friday and that he's been doing some work with P3. We can only hope it all has to do with the bootloader and a completely vanilla ROM.

If you have TBH DM, then Friday is the day, something big is coming Tuesday, September 21, 2010 8:52:45 AM via web
Something is also coming any minute now.
Just downloaded it, but from what I understand it's not a full SBF, it will only work if your sent into a bootloop because of trying to theme or remove bloatware. It will not work if you were previously sent into bootloop after installing the OTA and have already tried running the original SBF.
A big, big thanks to P3 for releasing the SBF and Birdman, who I'm sure was involved in this in some kind of way!
It's basically the /system only. But its a lot better than nothing.
Oh yeah, it's definitely a lot better than nothing.
Since we don't mess with the bootloader its really all we should need.
cvpcs This is what I am waiting for....

As promised, another obsidian video displaying some of the working features. Check video comments for more details: YouTube - Obsidian Booting... Again about 7 hours ago via web
I am uploading this to show some of the working features of obsidian. You will notice at the beginning that it is a bit laggy, that it being worked on.
Things that do work:
camera, wifi, bluetooth, battery reading/charging, 2D/3D display, market, phone (speaker mode only until audio fixed)
Things that at the time of this video don't work:
audio, gps, screen wake, camcorder, persistent usb.
Things yet to be tested:
3g, bluetooth (more extensive testing is needed)
Namely, there are still some glaring issues that make the build unusable as a phone, which is why there isn't an alpha test release available yet.
Other notes:
1.) this is built from source
2.) it uses the stock moto kernel
3.) it hijacks into a chroot and runs an AOSP init program, jailing the phone into AOSP and ignoring the stock init.
4.) it is based off of the 2.3.13 leak
5.) ETA on release is undetermined as it is based on when i can figure out the problems with audio and screen wake (the most glaring issues right now)
yeah obisidian may get me interested in my droid x again. since picking up an incredible and spending days running through roms and kernels the x is just sitting idly by.
ruby on the incredible is sick. with no custom kernel ive gotten 1580 in quadrants with it and it runs fast as heck with no lag. with king aosp kernel #1 ive scored over 1800 and its blindingly fast. if cvps fixes the camera being limited to 3 mp and gets 720 p video recording going that ll be may standard rom.
seems like birdman is waiting "for a certain thing to be released" before he releases whatever work he has done on the bootloader. i can only assume he means a full 2.2 sbf file for the countless bricks that will come from playing with the bootloader.
