Bionic Cancelled?

Dang. Motorola seems to have fallen of the rails. Perhaps it has something to do (if true) with the Atrix selling poorly?
 
Can someone verify this other than phone arena? :(

But i'ved read some comments below the post and I see some are saying its just getting delayed. Despite the fact the post says Targa might take over the Bionic name.
 
It seems unlikely that they would waste all of that money they have spent in R&D and FCC approval...

Regardless it is what it is.

relax and wait for more info. so far, this appears to be an UNSUBSTANTIATED rumor disseminated by those who like to rile people up. chances are high it's total BS. if it turns out to be true, so be it, but don't worry over rumors.

Indeed I see multiple reports popping up here and there, contradicting each other. Even release date is scattered over May to July. I wouldn't place any trust in these reports until it's all cleared up.

I agree. Despite the low-RAM concerns I think it'll be an excellent phone for many people and that Motorola would be stupid to kill it, especially this late in the game.

correct me if i'm wrong. but ddr 2 memory regardless of it being 512 should be faster than 1g ddr?

Crucial FAQ - Answer - made me think that the 512 ddr2 on the bionic wouldn't be an issue on speed.

then again. correct me if i'm wrong.

512MB DDR2 will probably run moderately faster (not twice as fast!) than 1GB of older DDR when running a combination of apps that all fit within 512MB. If you're trying to run 600MB+ worth of apps and services, it won't matter how fast your RAM is because it'll slow to a crawl every time it has to swap something out to reload something else.
 
Considering there has been zero effort by Motorola or VZW to refute the rumors, my guess is it is true the Bionic has been canceled, or Moto & VZWs PR efforts suck butt.

Yes, faster 512mb is better than slower 1gb ram. Not to mention Android handles memory use just a tad different than Windows, so 512mb verses 1gb is subjective to begin with.
 
This is funny.

Now you all are starting to sound like the TB forum before it was released.

I would rather they make sure everything is right on this phone before releasing it. We all saw, and see, how the TB panned out by being released before it should have been.

Aaah, ty. I learn more every day. I'ved waited. I can wait a little longer even for a better new phone.

Big exception being the rumors for the TB were launch dates- This situation is polar opposite and yet to be refuted but Moto or VZW. The last thing they would want is negative info to further reduce apparent interest in the device.

Either the rumor is true, or their PR folks are passing the days by in an opium den.... Both?

WoW....I hope its not canceled. Was looking forward to some Dual core goodness from VZW this summer.

Not really. I remember the rumors about it being delayed for several months (which it should have been) and VZW nor HTC said a peep. I only recall them saying anything about a week before actual release.

Im super sick of these games. Can't stand it. And there's no VZW phone worth sticking around for.
