Bionic or htc vigor?

I ran WinXP on a Pentium 200 MHz machine with a whopping 96 MB of RAM, 8 MB video card, and dual 7200 rpm 20 GB HDs. I guarantee windows 7 won't run on that machine.

You're right in a sense, in that it seems that Win 7 uses less memory - but I'm not wrong b/c Windows 7 uses memory more efficiently and thus uses less of it at any given moment versus Vista.

Vista is to XP was ME was to 98. Both sucked, and with good reason.

This has got to be the first time I can respond when you IT guys start talking computers. I truly loved XP. Incredibly user friendly, almost everything I know about computers (which isn't a lot, but it's a lot more than it was) is b/c of XP. One of the most appealing aspects of Win7 was you can get the XP layout. But as I still haven't upgraded to Win7, I'll wait till Win8 or whatever it'll be called.

Oh yeah, I did think ME kinda blew.

Actually I love Win 7. It feels much lighter, smoother than Vista and even compared to XP running on good hardware of its time. Apple fanatics wouldn't believe it but I think Win 7 is just as easy, intuitive as OS X. Microsoft has been criticized for a lot of things and rightfully so, but at least they have done good job on Win 7 and I think Win 8 supporting ARM based device will be great too.

I love Windows 7 as well.

The Indexing is AMAZING, and it is a light fast OS.

With the battery problems HTC is famous for and the fact that a Bionic tester says that Bionic battery life is excellent, I'm going with moto. Also, we know that HTC builds a good phone, but still not as solid as moto.

I would wait the revolution 2 is looking like a beast of a phone and if the roadmap plays out it will come out in oct just like the vigor. That looks like the phone to get: lte, dual core and supposed to be extremely thin close to iphone4 size.

^Yea...I'm interested in the Revolution 2 now too...lol

Depending on when it comes and what it has...I might be waiting...

I'm also looking at Revo 2 coming in Fall. If that spec plays out, it just looks like slim SGS2 plus LTE. I still hope Sammy brings LTE SGS2 like that leaked Celox or one of HD display beasts that leaked today within this year. But if not, Revo 2 looks like the one for me.

I need a new phone pronto. With 3 upgrades on a Family + 1 line setup, I'm getting the Bionic on drop day and then researching further what to spend the next two upgrades on....lol.

If I time it right, I should be able to work it out so I can get an upgrade every 6 months....

It's a thing of beauty, isn't it? I'll be getting the Bionic most likely on drop day. I'll still have one more upgrade at my disposal with another one coming at the end of December. Then there's another one in June. So it's very likely the every 6 months thing is going to work out for me as well.

All of you are very lucky. I just have me and my wife, as my kids are too young for cell phones. And she likes sliders, which I abhor, so no using each other's upgrade. So every 20 months for me.

Same here. :( I don't have the luxury of taking advantage of my family members.

Paying for 5 lines all with data is neither luxury or luck. It's an expense. And as none of them will have to fork over any cash for whatever I had down, I'd say that I am the their luxury.

20 months? Verizon killed the early upgrades, as far as I heard.

My grandparents have some old flip phones, so I potentially have some upgrades, but my dad will veto any of that ("You just got a phone why would you want one that costs too much i'm cheap").

I thought they got rid of their early early upgrades for the master numbers on the account, as far as I know you can still upgrade in 20 months with a Verizon store rather than 24 at an offsite store.

Well, I can upgrade still on my contract. I guess we'll see in 2 years if I still can.

They killed off the yearly upgrades you can still upgrade at 20 months.

If you get 4 upgrades then you can work it out every 5 months. And my math was off, as 20/3 is actually 6.67 months, so I'd be better off going the 7 month route.

Amen. Only 3 lines here and the phone bill, even with Family plan and $9.99 extra line, is like $180, and that's after a 20% discount on the main service itself b/c of the university....

I was notified of my upgrade exactly 20 months after my purchase of my DROID

Man, that was one quote-tastic post.

I got the note as well on my enV Touch. My contract has the early upgrade, not 1 year. Sucks, but hey.

Also, jroc should be thanking for your post pretty soon.

Yeah, I love that MultiQuote button - makes replies a lot easier when you've been away from the thread long enough for replies to pile up. I hate making 5 posts just to make 5 replies....

Lol - yeah, you did thank me there. I was pretty shocked at just how amazed, awestruck, dumbfounded, etc. he was....I whipped it out like it was a normal everyday thing for me lol....

OK, the phone, not anything else you pervs might be thinking about....

I was referring to the ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^! :D

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that too

Correct, the master line account was done away with. It used to cost $35 for an "Early Upgrade Fee" which you could get use of after 13 months of satisfied. That has been done away with, but you can still upgrade after 20 months with no fee (both AT&T and T-Mobile charge a one time $18 upgrade fee applied to the next bill).

You can use that 20 month upgrade at Verizon or just about any third party retailer. If you have one of the few yearly upgrades floating around or premium upgrades, only a Verizon store can upgrade you.
