1459. still in battery saver. was too lazy to turn that off, but if i'm not mistaken, all that does is stop the phone from syncing. i need to turn that off anyway, because i could care less if the battery syncs when i'm sleeping.
 
that aint bad...

but i think the optipng thing is not gonna be that great once you start installing apps with non optimized images...still goodwork,

i dont think im gonna change over though lol. my in snappy enough for me. :D
 
Since this is from the same leaked build of 2.2, does it still have the force close battery icon issue? What about the market? Do you have to do that Build.prop edit again to see protected apps? What's the point of this when the official Froyo is right around the corner? Wouldn't it be better to wait for a build of that that is optimized?

logically yes, but we dont know when its coming out...so why not? besides, its fun.
 
if we install the rom, will whatever themes we have installed be wiped? and can we then reapply the themes or will they bootloop me because its a rom and not the 2.2 they were made for.
 
Just installed FlyX and running it though the paces right now. Seems really snappy. First thing I noticed right away is the lockscreen is lag free. Just ran quadrant and got 1515 score so that is a definite improvement. Didn't install Drocap yet so no screen shot but I'll see if I can get that score again. Overall no bugs yet.

I *think* that 2.2 themes will work. This is just an optimized version of the Blur 2.2 they were designed for, so the files should still be compatible.

But make a backup first if you attempt a theme! Worst case is you need to pull the battery to get into recovery.
 
Anyone else not able to install this through ROM manager ??
Getting stuck at the "android triangle of death" when it asks to reboot into recovery to complete installation.

Help ?!

EDIT: getting a signature verification error- installation aborted
any help would be greatly appreciated
 
I installed through ROM manager and have verified that themes do work, I have Fabolous's NexTheme on my phone again.

My problem is that Google voice can no longer be set as my voicemail in settings, it will not change from my carrier. Any suggestions?
 
Installed this rom - no visible differences as far as I can see...in battery saver mode my quadrant score was in the mid 800's :-( I was able to get to mid 1300's in performance mode

My Dx has been very laggy these days even with LauncherPro installed...dunno what the problem has been...I think im maxing out video memory? It will run 100% smooth most of the time, then freeze for ~5 seconds from time to time. Is anyone familiar with this type of performance issue?

EDIT: Perhaps it's folder organizer widgets?? Everyone keeps talking about "optimized PNG's" are we referring to icons that are placed on homescreens? If so, this would explain folder organizer leading to undue lag...

EDIT #2: I've also noticed that I'll frequently have <50MB free RAM available in TasKiller...should I maybe switch to ATK?
 
OK how do we put swype back on? My backup won't allow it for some reason tibk has them listed but no option to install anymore.... so I guess we need the apk?

where can I get it?

In the stickied post about removing bloatware there is a link to download all of the stock apps.
 
So I downloaded the rom and tried to install it through rom manager and recovery mode and it is not showing up anywhere. Any suggestions?
 
My phone got stuck at the moto LOGO after on its reboot after installing. I guess I will never get to know :( have to re flash when i get home
 
Mine sits on the moto logo as well? I never had success downloading the 2.2 in stock images from rom manager either.
Fabolous a little while back I made the su edits to give me the black bar, do you guys think this is what might be causing the hang when trying to install fly? I read somewhere that everything had to be returned to normal on the phone to upgrade to 2.2. Confused.
 
Well i just realized something wish i had noticed this before. So my phone got stuck at moto screen and wouldnt load and couldnt do anything from recovery it would just wipe and get stuck at the moto screen. took out the sd card and it went into recovery mode. shoved the sd card back in and restored my backup. Atleast I have my phone back! whenever i try installing the 2.2 rom or this new rom this always happens stuck at the logo screen :(
 
Ok, so I read that I DO have to be running 2.2. Yet I can't get that bad boy installed either. suggestions???

Oh yeah now that I think about it I have that entire dump on my PC. :p

Has anyone seen anything more about the Droid2 fingerprint tweet? (this is why twitter suxs, not enough info) Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything on his site about it either

Well I was there for a long time but it finally completed boot. Might want to make sure you give it time to complete on first boots. I saw one guy who let it go for over 10 minutes before it finally completed. :eek:

NO NO NO DO not worry about your free RAM and get rid of your task killers. 1. because task killer are (basically) bad 2. They don't work in 2.2 because Google removed the API to kill apps. Why? see reason 1.

If the system needed more RAM it would take it from suspended apps. You don't need to worry yourself, no offense but it doesn't need your help.:D

BTW do you use a live wallpaper? I've had several that were real resource hogs and made my phone choppy city. Just a thought.

Don't know it work perfect for me. I know that's not a lot of help:D
Are you looking under "down load ROM" (I hope you are:D) Are you connected to wifi ? I ask because when I wasn't it seemed to take long time before anything showed up in there.
