Root Birdmans new rom flyX

Did you install the build.prop thats in there? I ask because I'm thinking that the rom may have the fix, but the modded build.prob that he posted may un-fix it.

I didn't test that before installing the build.prob so just a guess.
 
maybe im slow or something but i cant seem to find a way to turn off the startup sound or the same sound when you plug it into your computer...any advice?
 
Yep, I installed the build.prop add ons from rom manager and the market is not showing protected apps. Birdman must have forgot to add the fix to this file?

To do the edit with root explorer, do I edit the file directly or do I copy it to another location first, edit it there, and then overwrite the original? Also, does the edit posted above identify us as droid 2 owners again? When the official froyo is out, will we be able to edit the build.prop again to correctly identify our phones as droid x with froyo?

From the homescreen,
  • Hit the menu button,
  • Then Sound Settings
  • Under the General subheading you will find Volume
  • Uncheck Use incoming call volume for notifications
  • Then slide Notification volume to 0
Alternatively...
From the homescreen,
  • Hit the menu button,
  • Then Sound Settings
  • In the Notifications subheading you will find Notification ringtone
  • This will allow you to change that sound​

When you open the build.prop file in text editor from root explorer just edit it directly. It will save your edited file and also automatically create a build.prop.bak file that is the original build.prop incase you want to go back.
 
So I went to device info in the system panel app. When I look at the version it just says 2.2. What do you see when you look at this? Earlier when I was running the first version it would say flyX2.2 or something like that
 
My market is stuck on "currently downloading" google maps, and then when I try to cancel the download, market force closes and then restarts just to do the exact same thing.

any ideas on how to fix?

Have you installed the build.prop file after updating to the new "final" version?

I've had this happen a few times, try rebooting the phone.

I tried that already... Market just resumes trying to download Maps and is stuck. Other apps will download and install while Market is like that too. weird. I want maps though, I use it all the time..
 
does anyone's screen go BLACK from time to time, with only the hard bottom buttons lighting up? mines has done it twice and i had to do a battery pull =/

Not FCing on mine.

It did it randomly on my old leaked 2.2 though.

Nope, mine doesn't. It did it the first time I loaded up the first FlyX rom though. Only that once

Yes, it is the same. Sometimes it force closes, sometimes not. When I first installed the new flyX, it didn't force close at all, but after a while it started (just like with the regular leaked version).
