Root Birdmans new rom flyX

Ah darn, I'm in the middle of downloading FlyX too....oh well, I guess it's not a big deal anyway, the official should be out soon.

Is that a zero or letter O after FRG?
 
If everyone is loading the same file, why does the outcome vary phone by phone. Some people are saying Birdman must of left out the market fix, yet my market + others have no problem. Why would mine work and the next guys not?

As someone new to this I'm just curious.

It probably has to do with the fact that no 2 phones are really set up exactly the same way which leave a lot of variables to influence things.

Yup, thats what I have been assuming the problem is.

I think birdman added the fix to the rom, but the build.prop he added (by TheRealBeesley) changes it back to the non-working one.

He just tweeted that it's not supposed to show paid apps. You are right about that.

Hmmm... I went into Root Explorer and edited the file as described above. I rebooted and nothing has changed: I am still not seeing protected apps in the Market. And yes, I made sure it was a zero after the FRG. I double-checked for typos and didn't find any.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Just download THIS build.prop and replace the one that is currently on your phone.

Thanks, but I got it working. Even though I double-checked for typos, I did a copy/paste instead and that seemed to do the trick. So either I'm going blind, or I misinterpreted one of the characters.

Either way, it's working now - thanks guys!
 
FlyX is working very nicely for me, but one question:

The sync notification (circular arrows) is always showing in my notification bar since I installed FlyX. I tried turning off all my known syncs (Google, Facebook, etc.) but have not been able to determine which sync is stuck.

Any ideas?

It'll be back. Mine still works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

Bingo, the problem is restoring with Titanium. Restore Apps and App data only, I forget what the exact wording is in the app but you do not want to do a restore that includes "system data".

I had the same problem along with the blur log-on error, I just wiped again and reloaded only apps and app data and haven't had a problem since.

Yep, this is what I did as well. So far, flyX is running great! Yes, I still get the Force Close with battery icon sporadically. But otherwise, good stuff! Unless the OTA update is noticeably better than this, I would be more than happy with this build until Gingerbread comes out (or a really cool ROM).

Thanks! Wiped and reloaded only missing apps and data. No more stuck sync.

No problem like I said I had the same problem, not sure where I read about it first but it made sense to me, tried it and it worked. It really isn't talked about much so I feel like its a fairly common problem
